First off NO it's not open yet. LoL
What I'm looking for is some feedback and comments about some things that you all are interested in, or would like to see in the new winks.
- Any particular products per say that may not be typically listed or offered by most stores (maybe things seen only on ebay). I ask this question because when I researched for some corners for a buddies g35, I found that the company only sells them on ebay, however I could get ahold of them. (please keep in mind that it's going to be kept a little smaller at first and then will gradually expand)
- Mapping of the site (granted its not fully functional at the moment) is it easy enough or is there something that could be done to make it easier.
- I guess what I'm looking for is some overall feed back about your experiences in the tunning world and things that I could do to make it easier (within reason lol). Or anything that you might want to see done or bring to my attention.
I appreciate all the feedback in advance.
Thanks,
Matt

Well you know what i think of the site. i like it. plain and simple. i know you will carry most of the basic stuff but i dont really see much of a demand for the expensive unique stuff. people wont pay for it.
Very nice. You should carry some DIY items like fiberglass and caliper paint.
Rest In Peace, Saint.
He's your god, they're your rules, YOU burn in hell!!
you should carry some jdm parts like the tails and sidemarkers... im not into that but theres a lot of people on the site that are.
Check out my build thread!
I think the layout of the website right now is pretty good. I wouldn't know how to make it much better. I would love if you carried JDM parts like all the stuff street-line.net has. You have already been a big help to me and I haven't even ordered anything from you yet. But ya, if you don't already know, the new Winks rocks!!
Thanks for the comments and ATK 2008
I like the DIY
and I'll look into the JDM
Keep it coming guys

My suggestion??? Put a nice big disclaimer on the homepage of the site disassociating yourself from the previous iteration and owner of winksonline.com. Also, it would be nice if there was a decent selection of clutches for the ecotec.
Currently #4 in Ecotec Forced Induction horsepower ratings. 505.8 WHP 414WTQ!!!
Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!

I think the Under New Ownership on the main banner bit covers that.

Here's my opinion, and it seems to hold true for all vendors that use this style of storefront.
There are still those folks out there that are on a dial-up interweb access. Now while the main page is supposed to be graphic intensive, it is quite slow to load.
Some of this is out of your control. If I recall correctly, there is no way to physically add thumbnails on the main page so they are faster loading. All it will do is resize down the height/width of the image that you uploaded.
Take the Drift Kit on the front page for example:
The thumb specs
and the full size specs:
The pixel size is smaller, however the overall file size in KB is retained.
While this seems nit-picky, it really isn't. I don't know if you have to monitor your bandwidth usage, but this would be one thing that I would try to fix to keep things in check (if its possible)
However, when I start shopping for the car again, I'll be sure to stop by. That's why I like Firefox. Just let the page load in the background while cruisin 'round JBO
you wanna know what you would make a ton of money on? get a cap made to cover that piece of dash right below the windshield that always cracks. make a piece that you can take just the top dash off and then place this cap on to cover all the cracks then be able to replace the top dash pad. you'll sell a ton
free house with $100 purchase!! j/k good luck with everything, looks good so far!
I like the ideas coming in.
Yes Under New Ownership is on the home page banner lol.
As for the slow loading page I'll see what I can do but a lot of that is automatically sized. However playing around with the amount of pixels used and size of the pic can be adjusted for some but not all pics and what not.
As for the cap, I'm working on that slowly I'm picking up a whole dash out of cav soon. But I'm not making any promises on that. I'm just going to play with that and see what happens.
Free home, I don't think so lol. But maybe a mobile home lol J/k.
Thanks great stuff for me to look into so far.

Takes way to long to load.
Best bet is to get Image ready and set the pictures as thumbnails ans strip all the extra data out of them.
They are way to big. Also maybe convert them to png for better compression.
What happens with the thumbnails is that it just takes the normal picture and uses code to change the size. Thats what makes it take soo long to load them. Thats also why that when you scroll down, the page stutters.
The only really way to fix it is to manually resize the pics and then have the thumbnails be the smaller resized ones.
It's especially bad when you have someone that has 1024x768 pic and then wants it like 200x100 and just resizes it in the code. It takes forever to load and i've had it freeze my browser before too.

I just skimmed quickly but one thing I recomend (maybe I missed it?) is a way to input your car and then view products for it. you never knwo who might end up buying somethign they didn't intend to because they see it and like it you know. Maes its easier to browse through products and see what catches your eye

Im in the graphic/web design field and I must say the site is nice and simple. It's definately easy to navigate! The only real critiscm I can give, is that the site needs a better banner. It doesn't seem to flow with the site at all, being that the text is block like and the colors don't mesh.
