How do I contact JCO Directly?

I don't care about my thread being locked, I'd just like to know how to contact JCO directly, an email address or something would be helpful. Thanks.

Is there even anyone to contact? Who is in charge of it to begin with anyway?

So is this Ryan the guy in charge and that I should ask for a refund of my money? I don't feel like writing a long letter to the wrong person.

well since i missed the previous locked post, im with Mark on this. it sucked. we asked multiple times about what to do, where to go, was anything happening back at the hotel, and got nothing but no answers and the "cold shoulder".

i bought raffle tix, for nothing, i payed to race, for nothing, i payed to show, for nothing, i drove to canada 3+ hours, for nothing.

basically, if we would have been told there was stuff being done at the hotel, we would have went, but no one said anything to us. basically told us it was all cancelled, and to go home. pretty crappy handling IMO. even the "judges" that were still there didnt even know where the other judges went, or what was going on. and told us to just go home

It's really too bad so much hard work and effort will be ignored because of one mistake. I know the JCO and GM took great efforts to put on a show. This is certainly a black eye for the club.

There is no question that a contingency plan should have existed. Accounting for weather is no question one of the first things on the list of todos. I am suprised that such experienced people overlooked something so important. If you are running a venture at this level, you automatically lose the right to rookie mistakes. If you dare to ask for money, you must change the attitude and structure of the event accordingly. Money=Professional.

Making decisions on the fly tends to be difficult when dealing with the loose administration of a club. The organizers responce was somewhat lax. If anything, the event team should have been standing at the gate, getting wet, making sure all knew what was going or encouraging participants to hold off until a decision was made. I was aware that the club was assembling at the hotel. I think only by luck, though.

What always frustrates me is that the help is available to them. There are so many experienced people revolved around the J-body. Especially in the Toronto area. While I understand there is little use for myself with the JCO now, I know there are others that could have helped if only with advise at a planning meeting.

I feel for the JCO and the sticky mess it has to wade through. I understand what happened, but that doesn't make it OK. Some people did get screwed. Once the damage was done, there was no turning back, so they had no choice but to continue. Right or Wrong.

I am actually upset that the other thread was locked. Bashing goes on and on in this Forum. There is no reason to at least let people talk. At least people with a viable gripe. I think Ian's comments were very well thought out. It's too bad he has to say it. A mistake was made. They just didn't know how to fix it at the time. Or how to avoid it in the first place. There is a price to be paid for every mistake. Ian should not be the one taking the hit or defending the issue. I know the JCO post here. Why not let them.

The trip cost me about 100 bucks and a day. I'm not upset. Just disapointed over all.

I think my biggest issue was people were hopping on here and responding emotionally and not logically. People were making assumptions and making accusations without knowing the full story. That was then followed up by people not even at the event making accusations and assumptions... Like Craig said, mistakes were made. A contigency plan should have been in place. Unfortuantely it wasn't. The next problem was the track officials making an announcement saying they were rained out and thanking everyone for coming out. That was the track people and not the JCO. But everyone took it to mean the show was canceled. Unfortunately, it sounds like some JCO people may have took it that way as well and started telling people to leave. This is obviously where the biggest confusion came in. But I will say it again, there was no plan to continue the show at the hotel. That only came about because when we got back to the hotel there were so many people there. I only mention this again because of the many people I have seen say "If someone had told me it was being continued at the hotel, I would have gone". Nobody knew that was going to happen.

It's all an unfortunate situation. Obviously some changes will be made for next year. As many people have pointed out, they have gotten lucky the past couple years with it not raining. This year it just bit them, and everyone, hard.

So then... are people getting refunds? What's the plan now, going forward, to clear the air and make everything well again?

Or is it too early to be addressing that sort of stuff now?

Kevin, haven't heard anything from the JCO Execs. I'm sure they're trying to come up with the right way to address everything.

I have to say I agree with most people. No one was told anything about the contingency plan.......~Crickets~.....
Thats because there really wasn't one. And I completely understand that rain is obviously out of everyones control, but Mr. Lewis hit the nail on the head here. $40 is a princely sum to most, and others drove damn far to have it cancelled. Someone should have stood and the entrance/exit and told everyone the plan about the hotel.
I was at the damn hotel on the other side of what was going on and caught the tail end of the awards because no one even bothered to walk around the building and let people know. Thats unacceptable.
This was my last JCO Bash....Enjoy my $40

Never, man. We both have a right to state our points of view. Silly thing was we both let our emotions speak and couldn't hear the other's point of view. It was unfortuante what happened at the show. The only sad thing is that we have to wait until next year to see how they correct any issues.

Funny I haven't got 1 email yet ??

If your looking for a refund contact the President as he handles all the cash flow and state your case.

I can see and understand why so many people are upset with what happened but it was out of our hands.

I for one never even heard the track annoucers say that the show was cancelled. Not to say that didnt happen but I never heard it, maybe because I was taking
shelter in my car for fear of getting struck by lightning.

By the time we decided to go to the hotel and wait it out probably 50% of the cars were already gone.
Gone where ? Who know.. home, hotel, Mickey D's ???

Once at the hotel all the execs gathers in a room (probably 20 of us) and weighed out the pros and cons. We figured it was best to judge the rest
of the cars and hand out the awards. I truely am sorry to anyone who never was told about where to go at the track etc..

I can assure you the JCO was never out to take people monies as this was the 8th show for us and we have never encountered all the backlash
that mother nature endured.

At this point I'm not sure what else to say.

Here is my email if you need to discuss further.

Re: How do I contact JCO Directly?

is this the first time the JCObash was ever hit with rain ?? if so there shoulda been a plan set up already

even though there shoulda been 1 set up before hand , and even more so if there was a chance of rain for the day of the event , even if the weather man said 10% chance of rain (we all know they are never right)

as for money back , id say maybe a 1/3 refund , and discounted entry for the next event

i dont see where a full refund would be possible , the club had to pay rent , had to pay for trophy's , staff , clothing , and misalanious expenses

you leave early , id say your screwed , although leaving late looks like it screwed a group also
