HARTFORD LOWERS PRO COMPACT RECORD AT ROCKINGHAM
ROCKINGHAM, N.C. – Matt Hartford of Phoenix, Ariz., drove the Summit Chevy Cavalier to a Pro Compact national record of 6.622 seconds Saturday and claimed the No. 1 qualifying position for Sunday’s NOPI Drag Racing Series event at Rockingham Dragway.
Despite his record-shattering performance, Hartford had to fend off Matt Scranton of Land ‘O Lakes, Fla., for No. 1. Scranton, in a 2004 Toyota Celica, wound up second at 6.634, 211.46 mph.

HEI’s Matt Hartford and Ride Revolutions Matt Scranton swapped the number one qualifying spot every round with Hartford setting a new P/C record of 6.581. Earlier Scranton had set a new record of 6.634 which Hartford eclipsed but in third round qualifying, Scranton went 6.506 at 215.07 the fastest and quickest pass in NDRA history in the Scranton Brothers Racing, Ride Revolution Toyota Celica.
