This is by no means in any way to start an argument but I think it will be cool to here what evryone thinks about this site, what everyone really thinks! And I think this will be a fair and impartial post:
I wanna know what you all think of our moderators here. Good things, bad things, complaints, possitive or negative comments.
Me personally, I think that in some cases, moderators have a little power trip, note, I said some cases which means rarely. Other than that, no problems here.
If you want to post examples go ahead. If there is going to be a flame against me, don't post because it's not what this post is for.
I just think it will be informative how you grade them.

If everyone hates the moderators, do you expect Dave to get rid of them?
Is there some specific action you're looking for?
Personally, I think we're doing a great job and that we're actually way too lenient and allow ourselves to be walked on far more than would ever be tolerated on most other forums.
We enforce the rules to the best of our abilities while trying not to be the loser hall monitors everyone wants to punch in the ribs. On most other forums, the moderators take the role of ruthless dictators and you either listen to them or you're banished. Here we do our best to accomodate everyone.
The moderators here act in service to the members to keep this place running smoothly. If you have some sort of issue or complaint, it is to be taken up directly with Dave via the contact link over there on the left.
i think the moderators are evil.
i dont have a problem w/ them. ive been on here for 3 years and havent had one problem w/ them.

Well this is why I'm wondering what the point of this is. If people have issues, they should complain to Dave about them. If they hold water, we get hell for them.

I'm assuming he's trying to start a discussion of possible improvements to the site. Criticism isn't always a bad thing, and if there is a general consensus on something it should be taken into consideration. However, he didn't really make any suggestions or give any real, in depth criticism or comments.

I agree w/ this to an extent, but there may be small issues that aren't thought to be problems. But in a public forum these kinds of things can come out with discussion. I say leave the thread up just to see if anyone posts anything useful, but I doubt it will happen.
Me personally? I absolutely no problems with any of the moderators. Hell, I don't even know who they are. And in my opinion, that's the best thing about the moderators on this site. They are generally only seen when someone goes overboard...

Seriously though, i dont have a problem with them. Why?? Cause i follow the sites rules. I really love this site, even though im getting rid of my cavalier, I will still stay part of the JBO family. Id be sad if i couldnt use the resources of this site. They are picked to do the job, and they do it well. Some people complain that they arent fair. Like my dad used to tell me, if you want fair, the county fair comes in September. Meaning, simply, that nothing in life is ever gonna be 100% fair. If you dont like this site or the decisions of the mods or Dave, then go to another site. There are plenty of boards out there
Well I would like to be able to track my posts way back from the beginning. Then again I'm not premium so I don't know if you get that feature when you upgrade to that.
I like this place. the mods haven't given me any trouble so...
If anything.... maybe just the colors of the site but eh they don't bother me that much. I like this place.

Slow down man......Don't jump on the defensive side. I did not post this to start some bad karma on here. I just wanted to know how the members of the J-Bosy.org felt about their moderators, thats all! I have read in here many of times that some members feel as if moderators think that they are gods and can do what they want on here. A lot of members have posted on here stating why their post was locked and deleted. But then there are good posts about moderators as well. I am not doing this to have members lash out at me or moderators. This is a general forum and I am not breaking any rules here so It should not be locked!

Well any complaints about the moderators fall under rule 19 so they can't be posted here. So that means this thread can only turn into a big love-in for the moderators.
As sure as I am that everyone is just chomping at the bit for that one... I really don't think it's necessary.
You'll have to forgive me for jumping on the defensive but these sorts of threads are mostly meant to go on the attack. That's just history speaking.
You say some people think we act like we're Gods and can do whatever we want. Well... do YOU feel that way? If so, contact Dave and have it out. If not, then tell whoever does to do just that. If Dave feels we're out of line, believe me we'll hear about it.
So then... let the love-in begin.
Why is that we can complain about whatever we want but if it's about a problem with how a moderator is acting we have to talk to Dave? No disrespect to Dave or moderators at all, but just let this one ride. Why not post good and bad things here about the moderators. I know it's a rule but members should be able to speak their mind one here and let it be public.
But to answer your question, I have absolutely no problems with any moderators here, none whatsoever. Now there have been a few times where a moderator had to step in where I thought to myself "here we go, a power trip" but thats all, no smack talk, no grudges, no biggy.
Let's hear what the members have to say.

Well first off, before anyone starts screaming that we play favourites and what not... let me mention that a warning and a ban have already been issued for "IBTL" comments in this thread.
Now as for the complaints... the moderators are given the authority to exercise their abilities as they see fit to enforce the given rules and keep things running smoothly here.
If people are allowed to whine and complain about that openly, it undermines that authority and makes it more difficult for us to do the job.
If there is a legitimate complaint, Dave (and the moderators) will deal with it. Most of the "complaints" though end up being from people who simply didn't realize there was a rule against what they did or feel that there shouldn't be. The rules are set because they are necessary. They are not open to public debate. When people question them privately and there is merit to the inquiry, we get into some rather lengthy debates amongst ourselves, ultimately deciding on what we feel is best for the site.
Not everyone agrees with us and there's nothing we can do about that. We do our best. Having everyone free to shoot us down because they've had their wrist slapped for something they did though serves no purpose but to make new members thing we're a bunch of big meanies and the last thing we need is for people to resent us for the job we're doing.
Some people have no idea who all the moderators are, and that's just the way we like it.

You have no idea how many of them already have been. I just addressed it at the top of that post I just made while you were posting this one.
Now go read rule 3 and thank me for not warning/banning you for that post.
On that note... that's the sort of thing most members are completely unaware of but that we do all the time.
Most of our actions go completely unnoticed and thankless. We do it because we care about the community here and have a mandate to maintain it but for the most part, it's completely unappreciated. People only tend to notice the more intrusive actions like warnings and bans that they don't agree with.
