I know this has been brought up before, but as this years racing season draws close id like to know that i might be able to get a lil recognition for all the hard work ive done this winter. Turbosaturns.net has a pretty good system, and i helped build underdogsc2s motor. Knowing that hes at the top of that list really makes all the hard work worth it.
Basic guidlines that turbosaturns.net use are, unlimited, street NA, street FI, and they have a SOHC class wich could be equivalent to the 2.2 pushrod engines on this site.
Id really like to see this happen
I personally don't care to see that on the main page... but hey, what do I know?

Straight line racing isn't the only form out there. Everyone who puts forth an effort should be recognized, or no one at all.
what about the best looking cars, or the loudest stereos? like Lenko said, speed isn't everything.
How about a specific page regarding all of these fields! Spl, 1/4, 1/8, 0-60, money put into their car, AutoX leaders, Car show points leaders, etc etc etc...........
Then how would be able to judge who gets those spots? Voting? Actual proof? I think it would be kool to have a page dedicated to this but nothing on the front page! It should be entitled G.O.A.T

well you cant do autoX because every course is different.
As far as stereo and looks go, there used to be a car of the month window on the front page......whatever happened to that as well????
Im not asking that a huge window be made.
It really sounds like the few of you that have replied simply dont want other people to get the attention.
Yeah, the problem with most of those categories is that it's really tough to quantify them.
Some page highlighting members' accomplishments would be cool but things like that are often really tough to manage.
Its not that I don't want other people to get attention, its that if they get it, then I should too. And so should everyone else whos put extreme amounts of time and effort into their car, wether it be for speed, looks, sound, whatever.
And yes, it coud be done for autocross. Its all about the
season in autoX, not the individual race. I consistently beat AWD cars when I race, but I don't expect there to be a huge deal made about it, I wait for the end of the season and then take home the hardware.
This was talked about a few months ago and it went down the tubes for the same reason- you can't single out one type of enthusiast and not give any recognition to the others.
I remember the problems that arose out of COTM and who got it.
Now multiply that x10 for the increase in the amount of members, as well as x20 for the different categories that would have one. That alone is enough of a reason for me to not do it...
IF YOU NEED TO GET ATTENTION FOR DOING STUFF TO YOUR CAR, THEN YOU ARE DOING IT FOR THE WRONG REASONS!!!!!!!!

Its not about attention.
Fact is, j-bodys are among the lowest on list of cars that should be made to go or look fast.
Where i live, you have to be running 11s in a fwd to be fast.
It would be nice to see how well you stack up against even competion, other than the once a year j-body bash that not everyone can make it to.
there has to be 20 or more threads asking who is the fastest....who asks, who looks the best?

I wouldn't bother even building up a FWD car if I lived there, I'd be building something with AWD, lol. Funny, all the times I've been in that area, I've never seen a modified FWD car

i say just make a random 10 members appear on the front page with links for everyone to see the 10 cars a day, or however many.. just a place for EVERYONE to get some well deserved recognition

theres already a place to recognize peoples accomplishments...
its called photos and media forum...if you want to get praised for all of your work so you will feel special and make you feel better after dumping all of your money into your car. then post some pictures in there . if you do this because you enjoy it...then you really wont care for this to be added to the main page...i personally dont want it there
Ok, first Wild Weasel is working on a list of the top 5 fastest J's, and there is different catergories.
Why reconize drag racing, well most of us got into this sport forim trying to beat a civic, or a mustang, or just make our cars go a little faster, then maybe we changed to looks, or Auto cross. I agree auto cross should be reconized as well. it is right people ask all the time how fast is the fastest J. Not many ask what is the fastest auto cross time, or rankinf auto crosser, but no reason not to show them as well. As for looks, and stereo, well Lenko does a car of the month I think it includes those. Maybe doe snot need to be on front page, but easy to get to. I think what Wild Weasel has started is a good start.
