You sir are an idiot. Op get projectors. Search any other hid thread here and you will see. Projectors are a must.

Because of how low my car is, it had no problems with HIDs. I also had mine pointed down, and tested with friends. But i will agree, if you can, wait out the install and buy projectors because it's the best way. I reverted back to halogens for now though because my relay harness died and DDM is not wanting to warrant the product after 2 days of actual usage. F*ck DDM Tuning.

Btw, i had 35W, 5k 9007 hi/low setup with relay harness option. My car is also lowered 2" or more all around and unless I was going up hill, it wasnt in anyones eyes.

I have a car with factory xenon headlights and no projectors. They blind no one. They are made for Hids

Hids are not "illegal", its the colors that can be illegal.

To the op, there are threads on this all over the place on here. You stated you read that you need projectors, guess what, you answered your own question. Gm never made housings for Hids for the js. So you have 2 choices, retrofit or buy projector lights. Remember though, not all projector housings are made for hids.

Certain non projector headlights support HIDs well. Im running 5000k in my 00-02s and never have been high beamed. Not sure if my theory is valid but it could be due to the fact that the bottom reflector is painted black to explain the minimized glare. Personally I dont think anything over 6000k is worth the money. My HIDs work well on all types of roads whether its asphalt, concrete, wet, or dry. J(see pic below) Just thought I should throw that in there in case you ask about color temperatures.

I got a 6k kit, looks just like the one above. Projectors on the cavalier, stock housings on the bravada. Never been flashed.

ddm can suck a fat one... my relay harness took a dump and their "HID Module" needed all the pins tweaked to keep a good continuity...
