i know you can swap trunks or tails for 95-99 toyo's
...but i thought this would look ok, and do a

the black bar would be like the black trim on the 95-99's then the outer circle, that i belive is unused
[dunno for sure, dont own a 03-05] would be orange with a turn signal again, the inner circles on the outter tail would
maintain normal brake light function. and then the reverse on the inner light bar would remain reverse.
and well....of course, gotta finish off the JDM look with the JDM YO plates, toyo fenders, 4.5" muffler, and yellow lug tuner nuts!

Any (and I do mean ANY) form of the 03+ light bar is a fail. At least in my opinion that is. I hated the light bar since the day I saw the concept pics, still think it is the worst thing GM ever did to a Cavalier (cosmetically I mean). Lol, I don't think the light bar lasted more than 2 weeks on mine before it got swapped out.

If GM made a 03 - 05 toyo cav i believe they wouldnt have changed taillights, so just run a set of 00 toyo taillights.

i didn't like the light bar the day i saw it either, but it has grown on me. its much different than any other normal car and looks pretty cool once altezzas or blacked out lights are on it. my favorite is still the shaved trunk with only the outer lights, but i have no understanding of how to do that whatsoever.

as far as the light bar goes my tails look just like the pic at the top that cheviboi chopped, minus the bowtie and amber signals, and i love them. i think the lightbar can look just fine but only if tinted or just completely blacked out.

Yes, I believe so.
I guess my whole hatred of the light bar is that it's sort of rounded and sticks out from the body of they car..it doesn't follow the curves or lines of the car at all. Maybe had it been flush to the body like previous models' lights it would have blended in more and not been so hideous.
At least GM got a little smarter in '04 and took off the horizontal gray stripe that run underneath the bow tie on the '03 models. I guess you can call that an improvement, lol!
^if u want, personally i thought both bowties were hideous on the light bar.

i dont have the money to fix the cavalier, so it sits in the driveway

...all i needed was, rims, front bumper, and paint. and then the accident happned.

Here's what I did to mine
Personally I'm happy with them, would have gone darker with the night shade if I did it again though.
Also, there is a socket for a light on the outer circles, same socket as the 95-99 corner lenses. On base 03's GM cheaped out and didn't even put a bulb in it, but if you find an LS Sport the normal socket has another smaller socket branching off of it that lights up the outer circles. They are only markers though, not signals with the stock setup.
I put amber LED's in the outer circles, which I think looks pretty sweet, the night picture don't do it justice.

^i think u were the first one i saw on this site that did this, and i've always loved ur tails, it's y i did the same thing to mine, i just went darker and lost the bowtie, but......always liked the look of ur car man.

wow jessica had this ideal a wile ago we started on a set for her car just never got them done lol but we did make the outer circel just the turn sig like the toyo tails are if i ever get the tails done ill post some pics
You wouldnt be able to paint or die the red plastic with an orange color. One of 2 things would happen.
-It would make it very opaque so there would be alot less light passing through and very difficult to see in the day time when using a blinker.
-It would be washed out by the red plastic underneath when you turned the bulbs on and would look more dark orange than an amber.
BUT i think i have an idea for you.. I just have to think about it and find some things that would be applicable. Can someone measure the Brakelight circle diameter and the turn light circle diameter? ^_^ It woudl be most helpful

the set were working on we cut out the red and are replaceing it with some amber but like i said i yet to get this done been working on my rear disk swap
