Carbon Fiber Hood Hazing- Gel Coat Waxing?
Monday, October 10, 2005 9:03 PM
Whats up guys. My carbon fiber hood and fenders (both Aerogear/Wayson) are starting to develop a haze on them. They are not clear coated, they have a gel coat finish on them. Is it possible to get a special gel coat wax from like a boat or RV store in order to get rid of the haze and then clear coat it so I can wax it normally? Any help would be great. Thanks

Steve

You need to wet sand them with 600 grit and then clear coat them.

Dont forget to use a UV inhibitor, or else you may develope a gold, bleaching effect. Ive seen that issue tons of times.

So I should try and wetsand it instead of using a gelcoat wax? And this wont ruin it being its a gelcoat and not a clear coat? Thanks
