I plan on doing a 2000 headlight conversion to my 99 cavalier, so instead of cutting the fender to fit the side markers, couldn't i just go out and buy 2000 fenders, and not worry about cutting the 99 fenders? Or would that be a problem.

thats WRONG Shifted.
there is an extra bracket on the 95-99's for the corner light. i dont know if the one on the stock fender is removeable, cuz i have an 02, but i know if you remove/cut that, itll fit just fine. pop it off...if its all one peice, you gotta cut it.
you can go out and buy the fenders if you'd like, but painting is expensive! trust me im saving to have my d1's painted now.

Thats not wrong bud. The fenders are exactly the same size and shape as he was asking about that, not the bracket. The bracket comes off easily. The fenders are all exactly the same. Know what your talking about before you call me wrong. We were not talking about the bracket here, just the fender shape and the cut near the corner light.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
The way it sounded to me that you wrote it shifted is that the fenders are exactly identical. but actually they aren't but are. The 95-99 have the bracket the 00 and up don't. That is the only difference that I know of. but from how i read it at first it sound like you were sayin' they where the same and wouldn't have to cut the braket cause you could just slap the 00+ headlights and corners and and wella and be done with it when you can't. now if you bought the fenders you would almost be there but you would still need the corner lens brackets if I remember correctly. and like lundis said it is expensive to get things painted unless you can do yourself or you happen to get matching colored fenders or are really really good friends with someone that can paint really good.
Thing is that i have fiberglass Z-3 fenders now, and i would like to replace them with steel Z-3 fenders, so i figure, why not get 2000 up if i won't have to do any messin around, and make it less hassle on my self. So will it matter if get 95-99 or 2000 up? Wich one would be better to do the conversion, and is the bracket that hard to remove?
As far as painting, i work at a chevy dealer, so it's not a big deal. I also plan on getting a different front bumper, as i have heard that would might have to modify the stock one because of having bigger headlamps. What do you think.
