I got my hinges put on, but my dome light wont turn off now even when the doors are closed. does anyone know of a way to turn off or remove the sensors in the doors? i want to be able to turn on my dome light if i need it. i dont care if it doesnt turn on when i open my door.any help would be great.

. contact winks.... for 4 months of waiting and 999.$ i would expect good customer service
pull the fuse and dont use the dome light
check the spacing on the door it may need adjustment to completely hit the sensor
check that the sensor didn't get jammed in... if it is, it won't be sticking out as far as the one on the other side. if it is jammed in, you should just be able to get a new one from a dealership and replace yours.
just tape them down and make them think the door is always closed....
are you sure the switch is in the off possition? sounds stupid...but i had it happen to a friend.

just put it on a toggle switch on your dash
I glued the nipple thing on the body that tells my car that the door is open. Problem solved.
ur door might not be alined right or its not all the way shut, i had to figure that one out when mine got put on. check you latch sometimes they stick.

if worse comes to worse just cut the wires off the switch. THen it should think the door is closed becasue the circut wont be complete same as when its pushed in.
Please dont rig the sensor... Such a cheap way to do things. If i were you, I'd reposition it.
The plunger sensors are self adjusting the FIRST time the door is closed on them. I had the same issue with the sensor not being fully pressed when I installed my lambos. The proper solution is to buy new sensors (mine was $9 canadian each side) and install them, and close the door on them properly so they can adjust properly for the new hinges. I had taped a pad to the inside of the door for the time being before replacing them though so the light would go off.
