I have a strange request. I had Tom (WrenchMonkey) tune my car for the gm superchargetr before I got the reflash. My car is a 2000 cavalier but we flashed it with a 2002 automatic tune. This changed the vin number on my car to a 2002 vin. Then when I went to the dealership to get the actual reflash they couldn't do it becuase of the different vin number. What I desperately need is someone's vin number from a 2002 automatic car so we can use the tech 2 to start tuning my car.
If you search back in the performance or boost forum you should be able to find a few. I and others have posted about it.

Ok so I did some research and came up with this vin number:
1G1 JF12T8 27231862
MD or someone else would you please verify this vin for me?
Per the Vin...............
1G1: Us built, General Motors, Chevrolet
JF: Cavalier
1: Two Door Coupe
2: Active, Manual seat Belts, with driver and passenger airbags.
T: LD9, 2.4L twin cam
8: Check Digit
2: 2002 Model Year
7: Lordstown, Ohio assembly plant
231862: Production Sequence Number
The only thing I see maybe wrong is the
JF: is for a plan cavalier....
JH: is for a Z24 cavalier....

Thankyou very much. I will change the JF to a JH and see if that will work for the Tech II.

So it turns out I can't make a vin number up. I actually need a vin from a supercharged 2002 Z24 automatic. This is the only way I can get the supercharger reflash on my car without relicensing it with hptuners. If anyone can help me out or knows anyone with this car please let me know.

If Tom already tuned it, why do you need to get it reflashed by the dealer? Also, the tech2 will does not have the capabilities to tune your car.. Please clarify what you are trying to do and why...

What happened was I drove my car untuned to Tom's because we thaught he had the gm reflash for an automatic. After registering my car with hptuners and loading his copy of the tune it turned out that it was for a manual. The tune that he put on my car was for a 2002 cavalier so that changed my computer vin number becuase my car is a 2000. Because Tom didn't have the right tune I went to the dealership to get the gm reflash and have Tom modify that tune. After I tried going to the dealership for the gm reflash but they couldn't do it because of the new computer vin. So now what I must find is the vin of a 2002 automatic cavalier that is superchared and use that vin number for Tom to load the reflash into my car with the tech II. By doing this I can save myself the money for having to reregister the car with hptuners.
Hey, did you find a vin off a 02 supercharged auto Cavalier yet? If so did it work? I have an 04 manual Cavalier. Could I just give my VIN to the dealer and they should be able to do the GM reflash correct? I have searched this forum and others but I would appreciate it if someone could clarify this for me. I read somewhere else that I need an activation code to give to the dealer but I don't have one.
I thought you could use HPTuners to change the VIN number in the ECU... ??
When I did my 5 speed swap, I bought an ECU from eBay & the guy offered to program it to the correct VIN.
I went on Autotrader.com, found a VIN for a 5speed car & supplied that...
I know you prob wont find a VIN for a supercharged cav off eBay, but maybe it will help...
Worse comes to worse, just relicense the car.
Whoa !!!
Thats one of them there super rare 6 speed manuals... AWESOME !!! Its a sedan, automatic coupe six speed w/ 17" factory 16" wheels!! @!#$ !
Does anyone count reverse as another gear??
How is that guy gonna get $2900 starting bid when I can't even get 5k for my Built 2.4L turbo, 5 speed, Cav w/ full custom interior now for sale in the northeast forum??
Geez
If he really knows how to use hptuners this won't be a problem. You can change a manual ecu into a auto on hpt fairly easy from what I understand. All a manual ecu is a auto with all the tables at zero and all the other auto settings disabled.
