HPtuners?

Right now I have just intake, catback, and a pulley. Tuning wouldn't do to much for me.
Next spring I want to do the 086 head swap or nitrous.
If I were to do the head swap or nitrous would I benefit from a tune? If I do the head swap I will probably do the cams too because I will already have it tore apart. I haven't read up on what is required to run nitrous or needed on the head swap because it wont be done till next spring or summer. I am just getting an Idea if I should start reading up on how to work hptuners or not.

A tune might give you more than you think. more than alot of the mods people do now a days. Start reading and playing with HPT now before you gop nitrous so you have a good idea of what your doing before doing nitrous and you blow your motor up.

A good tune will do any car good. I would not recommend waiting to get HPT until after you have done all the mods and nitrous and expecting to get a good tune right away.

If I buy it I will have it a few months before I do any of the other stuff. I would think I could figure it out after that long but maybe not.

If I take it little by little it should be safe shouldn't it?

you can easily do permanent damage to your motor with HPT, reading up about the tuning process before hand will help greatly. I would really recomend getting the pro version with better data logging capabilities, and take your time learning to use it. Dont make any drastic changes to anything, and get yourself a wideband, you SHOULD be fine. Ignorance, and not paying attention is what can really mess your stuff up.
