if by MAS you mean MAF, then no, its not even remotely close to the same thing as an iat.

They are far from the same thing. If you are going to ask a question about a certain thing about a certain motor, why not ask the right thing that applies.

you just dont know what your talking about
now ask about timing without using the word mas a/f or maf and you might get some answers

even though Im pretty sure he has know idea what hes saying he still actualy kinda of right. although they are different in so many ways. they are similar in the fact that the cooling of air over the sensor determines alot about the amount of fuel and timing advance the car gets.
however the different is that a maf will tell you the amount an iat is only gonna give you temp.
