Ok, this is the story, I had the GMSC tune on my car, and then HPTuners came out, so I bought it and made a copy of my stock GMSC tune. Now I have returned my car to stock and I need a stock GM tune. I have one from a 1999 and the car won't even start and the guages don't work. I have tried copying all the values into the GMSC tune (like a fake 2.0 bar but a fake 1.0 bar instead)
I have trired downloading stock 2001 tunes and such, but I don't have the VIN for those either.. so is there anyway to go to a 2000 stock GM NON-SC tune if I didn't have on to start with?

car is already back to stock... I sold the engine and have a pending sale on the turbo kit, I am either getting an SRT-4 or a 1993 supra TT, the supra is way cooler, but way more money, so I am seeing what I can do.
Shifted, I have downloaded some of those tunes of the HPT site, but it says I don't have a License for this vehicle, so I can not flash it to my car... any ideas?

The reason it says that is because the VIN in the tune you downloaded is different from the VIN in your ECU. YOu have to register the new stock tune before you can flash it to your car.

if that is the case, then it is cheaper to go to GM and have them flash my car back to stock, I guess.
So it will cost 2 more credits?

Yes it will cost 2 more credits. I think it will be easier to do it yourself (going from what I hear some dealers giving people hassle on reflases).
You could always try to sell your ECU with the GM reflash to someone in trade for a stock ECU (no reflash). This could help someone at the same time.

Yes. You will likely have to do theft lock relearn, but nothing big.

cool, thanks alot guys, I think what I will do is call GM and see if they will do it for me quickly, if not I will go grab a PCM from the wrecker just down the street.

if your car is already licenced to hpt, why not download the stock tune from the repository, open it in one side, take a tune for his car and overlay it with the stock and "create a custom" stock tune then flash? ive done that before with other peoples tunes.

You could do that, but since he has the GM reflash the car will lose some timing resolution.

would it still loose resolution if he put the 1 bar sensor back in and did what he suggested before by faking the 1 bar? with a 1 bar sensor and a 1 bar tune, shouldnt it be fine or are the tables completely changed over on the GMSC flash (i have yet to see one)?

the stock o/s is Alpha-N tuning and the GMSC is map based.. so I have copied it all over and installed the stock injectors and map, but it revs up to like 3k at idle, then surges from 1000-1700, then back to 3k. I had the 2 bar and 650cc in, and it ran just perfect, so the computer tune is still giving me issues.

No it would not be normal. The GM reflash timing file is RPM x MAP. The map it read is as follows: 40 60 80 100 120 130 140 150 160 170 180 190 200. The N/A file is as follows: 20 30 40 50 60 65 70 75 80 85 90 95 100. Hope this helps understand the resolution lost.
