BCM cause HPT connection problem?

is it possible that a bad BCM or other module besides the PCM could cause a connection problem with HPT?

the HPT gauges work no problem. there are some DTC's, but I can't think of them off the top of my head, and I don't have the list in front of me.

what exactly do you mean by connection problem? are you not being able to connect to the car in editor? in the viewer? what type of problem are you having?

i cant see i bad BCM giving you a connection problem as it should have nothing to do with the actual running of the car. the BCM just controls things like the fog lights and the door chimes.

we cannot connect to the car in editor, at the part where it says "gathering information". we can however get the HPT "gauges" to work.

Also make sure only one program or the other is open. So either the scanner or editor not both.

it's my LD9 to L61 Eco swap in my '02 Cav Z24.

we had issues tuning because we were trying to use an '02 tune I got off another member in an '04 PCM. we finally figured out about the PCM change in '03. I bought an '02 PCM from a guy on eBay. he programmed the VIN from the '02 tune I got off the other member into the PCM I bought off of him via a Tech II. and we're seeing the connection problem when it says "Gathering Information".

here's a link to the eBay ad:
