is it possible that a bad BCM or other module besides the PCM could cause a connection problem with HPT?
the HPT gauges work no problem. there are some DTC's, but I can't think of them off the top of my head, and I don't have the list in front of me.

what exactly do you mean by connection problem? are you not being able to connect to the car in editor? in the viewer? what type of problem are you having?
i cant see i bad BCM giving you a connection problem as it should have nothing to do with the actual running of the car. the BCM just controls things like the fog lights and the door chimes.

we cannot connect to the car in editor, at the part where it says "gathering information". we can however get the HPT "gauges" to work.

check all your grounds, and also wiggle the back of the ALDL.. I have a customer's car here giving me a similar fit...

Also make sure only one program or the other is open. So either the scanner or editor not both.
