Why isthe cobalt rated at 145 and the cavs and fires at 140. Dont they both have the 2.2
Whats the diffrence between the both of them?
I was thinking the same thing. I drive the cobalts at work and for some reasone the seem slower to me than a cav/fire.

That would be because the Cavalier and Sunfire are alot lighter.
My guess is the 5hp increase is to try and compensate for added weight on the base model.
maybe, but what gives it 5 more hp?
It could be anything, they could have programmed the ECU differently, a less restrictive intake, less restrictive exhaust.....I don't know the exact reason but it is something simple. You should notice that the base Malibu's also receive this 145 HP rating (or maybe it's 144, I can't remember exactly). They also carry the 2.2L Ecotec.
isnt it a slightly bigger throttle body and a different ecu flash.
u wouldnt notice 5 hp, at all anyways.
