Well I've already asked the guys on dsmtalk.com, and they're no big help, I figure you guys here would help me better.
I'm not sure if this is really car specific, or if the system in a convertible Cavalier is similiar to my Spyder's, but I've been having problems.
When I first got the car in September, the top worked fine at first, it would open and close when I pressed the button. Later on though, it would only work sometimes. Sometimes it would open, but not close. Sometimes it would not open at all, then sometimes it worked just fine. But now, it won't open at all. I hear a relay clicking when I press the button, but that's it. All of the wires are fine, the pins in the motors are fine (common problem in Spyder convertible motors) fuses are good.
The only thing I can think of now are that the motors are just bad, but they say it only takes one motors to operate the top fine. So maybe they worked fine when I bought the car, then one went out during the period that it kind of worked, now they're both gone. Or possibly the relay is bad.
So I hope you guys are more helpful than they were over there.
