Well the girlfriend finally got th e car she wanted. 2002 Grand AM GT with "Ram Air". Its nice, loaded, black.

Now of course its a new car for me to play with.

Flow Master 80s with reonators removed sounds amazing. So were gunna try that

I see it runs high 15's stock. What are the possiblities? Is it hard to get high hp out of it?

Does it need the special harness for the headunit?

Thanks guys

I know that the 3.4L engine isn't a bad motor, it will take some abuse. And there are some decent aftermarket parts for it. I'm not too sure about how much power you can get out of it though. I do know that you DO need the special harness for the HU.

Thanks. I thought she needed one. I hadnt gotten around to taking the HU out.

I see RSM makes a supercharger that everyone in the GA community Swears by. Sence its not my car that option is a long way off....but ya never know.

We have been looking for a body kit for it. I like the rksport one the most. I dont want the normal kit you would see on every other car on the road. If we dont find one that we like its gunna stay stock.

There was N-body.net, but it's falling into disrepair last I checked.

Here's what I had/have planned for my Alero, same car basically:

1: Eibach springs/Koni Shocks (non adjustable), Camber correction kit.
2: Brembo OE replacement rotors (The N-body's achilles heel is def the brakes) and EBC Green stuff pads
3: HU/AMP/Subs/Speaker install. I have a 2000, so no special wiring harness required. You don't NEED the harness per se, but you lose your chimes, and some people think (for what ever reason) that your Airbags will either deploy or never deploy, ABS Controller will cook, and you'll eternally lose in the lottery if you don't get a $85 wiring kit. In truth, you won't even get a code... some installers are so f-ing paranoid.
4. RSM Swaybars/PFYC.com swaybars & front/rear STBs.
5. SLP Cat-back exhaust, TOG Headers, CAI.
5. Better Seats
6. HIDs.

It's the short list, but you get the idea. The N-body is NOT a popular application, so expect a higher pricetag on any aftermarket parts, but Other than the brakes and a few other minute problems (head gasket leaks.. hope you have an extended warranty), I've had naught for headaches. If it's a 2002, just check to see it's up on all its recalls, I know there was a few that came up with my 03 GAGT.

I still miss it

But not the payments

Yeah i used to be a member of n-body. My first car was given to me. A 2001 alero gls or something like that. 5 speed coupe. Had it till i got my lincese and just couldnt drive it. It was my uncles whom had passed away. Sold it for my first cav.

I might buy a four door GA. Cheap 99+ with the 2.4 Commuter car with space to boot. the trucks eating gas like crazy.

If its the same 3.4l they used in the monte carlo in 96 then I hope you can work on it yourself. My mother-in-law had one and anytime she took it to the shop it was atleast 400 bux for something. Her AC compressor went out and they wanted 1100 to replace it. Her check engine light was always comming on for something stupid. Worst motor ever. Which is weird because i've heard a lot of good things about them. Maybe she just had a lemon.

torquey engine. A fair bit of potential. Personally a K+N and cat-back 2.5" exhaust will be plenty in the way of power, unless you wanna go all out. But that gets expensive.
