I like it. It does have a lot of import exotics hints to it. 450hp 30+ mpg as well as a 7 speed manual trans... im a fan and would love to drive it. Stingray is over the top for a name but will be awesome to see in person.

Love the color,i think when i repaint my 05 sunburst,i might change color to that. Look more like a blood orange color.
I like rims too.
Don't like front fenders with F scoops.
This color does the car so much more justice
i like it but..... hate hate hate hate hate the tail light area.

oh, trust us, we know
Obviously by the live intro, they showed that hood scoop to be functional... but I want to see one with a COWL! that would look sick. either a subtle 2.5" or give it a 4" with huge meat in the rear.
gaudy
overstyled
i still want one
wondering why only 450hp. this new "lt1" comes up short for me....
It's nice to be injected but I love being blown.
Yeah, only 450hp
Shut up you dumb @!#$, each base Vette has pushed the HP limit while improving MPG
well is there another model coming out or is this it? i find it hard to believe they wouldnt have something to compete with the zr1. thats all i meant about "only" 450hp.

Wow.....
Brad, please go educate yourself
the unvail led me to assume that the "Stingray" was the top of the line.
so if you have something to add please do... id genuinely like to know.
this is what i was expecting...
"Corvette ZR1: 6.2L Twin Turbo V8. 730hp. Available with 7-speed transmission or a re-geared DCT transmission. 0-60 in 2.9 sec (7-speed) and 2.7 sec (DCT). Will not be a wide-body but will have more aggressive styling to include what you are seeing on the Jalopnik renderings. Interior is similar to base model C7 with lighter seats, door panels, and more use of carbon fiber. All ZR1s will be two seaters (no rear seats on the ZR1). The car weights 2989 pounds! How? Through the use of carbon fiber roof (which is painted this time)/fenders/hood/rear hatch/and even doors! There is extensive use of aluminum, nano steel components, lexan rear window like Porsche GT2/3 rs. Floorboards are nano steel vice carbon and balsa wood. Overall engine and transmission weight is down 75 pounds (50 pounds with DCT). Initial tests (in full camo) suggest it is the 2nd fastest production car EVER tested behind only the Bugatti Veyron. Price: 120k-140k depending on options."
any idea when it might be out chris?

450hp isnt bad at all but compared to the 750 hp gm was boasting about a year or 2 ago it is weaksauce! That being said the car is sexy.
Still drooling while you guys are blabbing about nothing....
It was time for a different look...love or hate it...

Stingray is a GENERATION, not model
The last base model was 423hp, then went up with the certain Z models, just as in the past
Again, please read up on the Corvette
BASE car has 450HP and someone who drives nothing but sub-200hp cars finds everything wrong with that..... wow.

Since I have a 600+hp Vette, am I allowed to comment?
The thing is, you CAN bitch, but didn't.

Brad, you need to remember... its the new LT1 for one thing. Another is they shed some SERIOUS weight. Carbon fiber control arms. New aluminum chassis. Carbon fiber roof and hood. It went on a serious diet. The 30hp gain and torque will be unbelievably noticeable. Not to mention the low end torque they will pick up with the LT1. all while screaming out 35mpg. Its going to be a beast.
My favorite thing is the adjustment knob. With the twist of a button you go from casual gas sipping vette. to super aggressive road course worthy fire breathing vette. I for one would love to get a hand on that 7 speed. I want to know how short the gears feel.
They shaved ~95lbs, NOT serious weight...
again, i was comparing this with the zr1. completely different ballgame. i didnt realize their would be up-models down the road.
thanks for clear up the confusion, chris.

I'm guessing I am the only one who noticed the 2 seat/4 seat typo in the ZR1 article??? Anyways, I love every generation of the Corvette and they just keep on getting better and better. I'm sure some exotic or Euro snobs will trash the interior quality, but truth is most of them have never even sat in a Vette, and the outgoing C6 had a pretty decent interior anyways.
Currently #4 in Ecotec Forced Induction horsepower ratings. 505.8 WHP 414WTQ!!!
Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!
So you compared the base version with the $100k+ version? Very fair.

There is
NO official power ratings and these figures are just preliminary figures. GM clearly stated that the LT1 will have at least that amount. So expect a 450-480HP SAE rating when it is all said and done.
