Commando Cruise Car Show (Pics)

There was a local car show around our area right outside base. Our team was going and its usually a pretty small car show. My fiance was gonna go and I talked her into entering to kind of get a feel for it. She's big into the car scene but hasn't been to a lot of things. Was a little worried about going because this was only her second time and last time I had to beg her to enter. I did all the prep for her car and helped her get ready and enter and everything. She ended up winning first in her class. So I told her a small show like this would be a good learning experience since I'm in iraq. If she had any issues some others from our team would be there for help. My persuasion was that since I had not test fit my Work VS-XX's yet that she should test fit them. If they did not rub horribly she could use them for the show. She could also show off her new grill I bought her as a gift. So she entered.

The pics. I know I know...needs a drop. The stance def. needs work. Decent start at least. I have a feeling santa will bring her ground control coilovers though.

Rest of the team that went

This is Justins 06 WRX he took second.

Ambers G35

Robs NSX took 3rd

His hideous wing he refuses to get rid of. Guess he's prepping for a 24hr lamans.

Guys name who I can't remember lol IS250 he took first.

You lost me at the NSX. They all looked cool till i saw a nice smooth car with a giant over sized tin wing on it. Very tacky.

As for your ladies car. I very much like. I also like the classy car color and wheel color. It's very 80's Reminds me of my Dad's burgundy Trans Am GTA with the gold mesh wheels. It was a perfect color combo then...it's still very tasteful today.

The wheels were suppose to go on my IS300. Which would be red, eventually a mattedore red from an IS350/IS-F, but they just look sooo clean on her car. I'm actually thinking of just picking me up a different set of wheels. Something more aggressive. Those are a 18x9 +32 and 18x10 +36 I'm wanting something more along the lines of 18x10 +28 and 18x11 +30. I'm really thinking of a set of Volk CE28N Time Attacks. They're black with a red pin stripe that would match the car. However, they don't make them that wide. I did find a very legit shop that widens wheels and they do an amazing job.

is this the Air Museum outside of Eglin AFB? If so I grew up and my parents still do live across from there on the water in Poquito Bayou.

Very nice cars!!!

The NSX needs wheels badly. I have nicer wheels than that on my trailer to carry our firewood.

one of the most popular lightweight wheel they make right now? Really? I will admit I can be an ass, but it's clear you're simply being an ass for the sake of being an ass. Those wheels aren't the sexiest thing the car could have, but it's clear he's going for a "Racecar" look, and those wheels work perfect.

A racecar look on a car that isn't slow in the least.... seems to work out well in my mind.

Jl you know better than everyone on the .org everyone has to have SOMETHING to bitch about on anyones car regardless of what it looks like.

Being an ass? No. Stating my opinion? Yes. They look like crap. I don't care if they weigh four pounds a piece, they ruin the look of a possible nice ride. If he's going for the racecar thing, I want to see it on track, not at a show and shine.

I'm not the typical "bitcher" who bitches at everybody's ride. I can tell that a ride looks good BUT I can also say the opposite if I think this way. I just don't get onto any type of bandwagon for X type of mod or type of wheel. I just don't care if the guy had hella lightweight Enkeis or @!#$ American Racing wheels on there.

Look in this thread at the black IS250, this is a bonerific ride. But that is just my opinion. Look at my post up there I started by wirting: Nice cars!

I think this is why they were saying you were just being an ass. You weren't just stating your opinion. To be honest I think it was a simple fact you had no @!#$ clue what they were and you just knew you didn't like them. He is going for function over form. Who cares if he entered a car show even though he's not really trying to setup for car shows. This is probably why he took 3rd in an NSX and lost out to a clean IS250 and a WRX.

Enkei RPF1's aren't the best looking wheel in the world. I don't think they are horrible or bad enough to say "I have better wheels on my trailer we use to carry our fire wood."

Gonna hang on to it. It still runs like a champ. Once she's outta school, April, gonna look for a new car. Something not too pricey and keep hers.

I love his subie. He has a lot of mods by them self I would hate. He made it all come together nicely. It sounds amazing and pretty damn quick as well.

Haha yea if she want gonna clean the engine bay shoulda left the hood down. It's all plastic I don't know why she didn't clean it up. That's the first thing I told her as well.
