I'm not a big ford fan but thats a damn clean truck. I have always thought ford has built decent trucks. If I were to buy a truck it would more than likely be a chevy. However, that is a clean truck and appears to be well taken car of.

How much did it run you if you dont mind me asking?

You know, stuff like this kinda pisses me off...

Do you think he bought the truck for fuel economy? No...Its an extended cab with (hopefully) the 5.4l in it. Nothing economical about the truck. If he wanted fuel economy he could have bought another Cavalier.

Its like my girl, she wants a truck bad, has the money..But wants an older K2500...is she going for the fuel economy? Hell no, 7.4l with a 4.10 rear gear and options everything. Its what she likes and enjoys...You dont think about fuel economy when you buy something like that.

Even if he did care about fuel economy, Ford trucks are up there in regards to EPA ratings anyway.

You're an idiot.

To the OP, congrats. Truck looks clean and very reasonable mileage for a used pickup!

And to Evan: I always felt the same way. Nothing special that appeals to me about trucks.... until I owned one. Useful as hell!

Nice looking truck...my old man has a 2000 with the 167k on it....ran like a top but put a new motor in cause his had some sort of defect.

I'd get a leveling kit for it to even it out, crank the T-Bars or get some coil spacers(not exactly sure what suspension the new ones have in the front.

selling my truck....let me know if your interested.

Nothing I hate more then filling up my truck, and having people filling their Civics and Cobalts ask me how I like the gas mileage. If I cared about gas mileage, I would have not bought a truck, that's for sure!

Unfortunately Dustin your the idiot. Ford did this lovely two piece spark plug design. When you try to take them out 90% of the time they break in half. Leaving either the ceramic stuck in the cylinder head or half the metal part of the plug. There are MANY companies that make extractor kits just for the 5.4l engine and 4.6L engines. Also if the dealer messes up replacing the plugs it is the customers responsibility for the fix.

Also, some every early year 4 valve per heads had no more than 3 full turns of thread engagement into the cylinder head, and if there were detonation for any reason, the plugs would literally eject from the cylinder head ripping out the threads. Normally on 2002 model years. Some of the two part plugs would also blow apart under load, and pop out.

Upgrade.

I've never been a Ford fan, but these last few years they've really stepped up their game. I wouldn't be surprised if I bought a Ford truck after the Mazda.

Great buy! Your going to enjoy it. Get ready for all your friends and family to ask if they can borrow your truck to move stuff.

Trust me it always happens.

I have to agree with you on this one. I replaced my 02 Cavalier for an 05 Sierra with the 5.3L and I'm driving 120 kms a day round trip to and from work. I bought my vehicle because I enjoy driving it, has nothing to do with gas mileage.

I do love the Ford trucks though, and kinda wish I would have got one. Maybe in a few years I will get a Raptor or something.

That truck looks nice and clean though, and I love the black.
