As long as it doesn't look like the current Chevrolet Cruze...

I agree. GM does a sucky job with naming their vehicles. IE: The lack of creativity with the new Pontiac names... G5, G6, G8. It's almost as bad as their overuse of the SS badge.
I'm eager to see what this "Cruze" will look like.
Replace the cobalt? dammit lol

damn, seems like the cant hold on to many cars now a days. they went 23 years with the cavalier, 4 years with the cobalt, what are they gonna replace this car the following year. name sounds kind of stupid. Its going to be a hybrid obviously just hope it doesnt look like the picture above. my hopes are set for the chevy volt for sure.

Yea from what my dad has heard (he works at Lordstown GM) they're moving the cobalt to Mexico and gonna be making this Cruze
Great.. So Scientology is getting into the automotive market?
Are you going to get audited while you drive? If you're about to road rage on some schmuck that cut you off does an inflatable John Travolta urge you to buy a Battlefield: Earth DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray?

The first thing I thought of was "Tom?"

like cobalt is any better lol
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Cobalt (pronounced /ˈkoʊbɒlt/) is a hard, lustrous, silver-grey metal, a chemical element with symbol Co. It is found in various ores, and is used in the preparation of magnetic, wear-resistant, and high-strength alloys.

Now if it was Caesium, then there might be an odd name..
However, I think the Malibu would have had a better name as "Tungsten" or something.
Chevy names after Elemental Metals, Buick after noble gases (except Neon), GMC after mountain ranges, Pontiac after races, Saturn after cosmic bodies, Saab after Clinton years, and Cadillac after new sexually transmitted infections' abbreviations.
PERFECT!
Actually, I like the name Cobalt. Two syllables with hard consonant sounds at the beginning and end... it's appropriate for the car because the SS Turbo is bludgeoning the competition in speed, braking and maneuverability. Watch and see if SCC decides to actually do a shoot out with a Civic SI sedan, a Scion Tc and a VW Golf GTI.

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the pic Dave posted, but according to the article it will be "almost the same as the Cobalt". Who knows with GM.
that picture dave has looks like a ford fusion crapped out a geo tracker.
I can't be the first to post this here.......

That's actually a home market (jdm) Suzuki ignis. So you guys are close with the Tracker Analogies.
On a side note, since gas has hit $4+ a gallon i get offers from strangers at least twice a week for my 1995 Suzuki Sidekick (same as Geo Tracker). It's the craziest thing, and now i'm seeing A LOT of them on the road all of a sudden. I think Chevy should pump out another small 4x4 ladder frame SUV like the Tracker again. They would sell them like crazy...30mpg and real 4WD FTW.

No, the picture I posted is a car that is currently sold in certain Asian countries, also called the Chevrolet Cruze. It is in no way related to what is going to be built at Lordstown.

It'll never happen, but I'd love to see it. If they did that, they'd have to admit that a GM product was the best in a segment they cover in terms of performance. Just to be unfair, they'll look at the LNF and decide it should compete with the 350Z, STi and Evo, just so they can kick sand in our faces again, despite that even if they lined up some of their current budget import faves (Si, WRX, Ralliart, GTi) it'd take them all to brown town. The tC would be omitted, since they never really took the Scion brand seriously. They did that one token praise article, and that was it for the 2.4L Toyota.
