Yeah, and too difficult to understand! I say congress should pass a law requiring all auto manufacturers to rename their trim levels to GOOD, BETTER and BEST. And if thats not enough, add BETTERER and BESTEST.
Because I want to drive a SILVERADO BESTEST. With the bestest 24" bling bling wheels they got. That would be pimp!

im not crusing around in my aveo "SS" thats just asking for problems..... hello mister camaro how are you???.....
yeah, like the LE, SE and XLE. Oh...wait. That's Toyota so it must be OK.
what is the point of this post? nothing. you have made the worst thread ever.
I think LS, SE, GT, and SS are good.
Know what bugs me? Giving a designation to a base car. Like how the 1989 Camaro's base model was the RS. Why couldn't they just call it the "Camaro"? Why put RS on it? It's stupid.
Some designations are good: Sport, RS, SS, SE, Special Edition, Limited, LX, GT, GTi, Si, LTD...
But some really do mean absolutely nothing. Like what does the SL for my absolute bargain basement basic Sunfire SL mean? Slippy? Slappy? Sloppy? What? Just call it the Sunfire, you idiots!
As an aside, if they ever made an AWD Cobalt, they'd HAVE to call it the SS/RS. You know... for Rallye.
Sigh... all of those numbers/letters mean something fools. SL = Standard Trim Level, GT = Gran Touring, SS = Super Sport, RS = Ralleye Sport, LS = Luxury Sport... need I continue?
So really you do have an SL Sunflower. Suck it up.
By the way, you're quickly turning into that Nickeln Dimer douchebucket.

LS = Luxury Sport? Not on the Cobalt. The base model is LS then you get to LT and SS.

YARLY. Wanna fight about it?
LS is LS is LS is LS it don't @!#$in change son.
Yeah it stands for the same thing, just isn't always as true from model to model. i.e. Cavalier LS isn't what I'd call a luxury vehicle. Lincoln LS, however (even if it is the actual model name) seems a bit more accurate. In either case, they mean the same thing.
[quote=BoltZ DesignZ™]should just rename them all SS and be done with it...
...it seems to work well for the dealers?

I would have thought it would go Type S (S=street) then Type R( R=race) and then... wtf is Z anyway?
Screw it, they should do what Saturn did with the LS... 100, 200 and 300. Then if you need trim levels in between, 150, 250, etc. And if you need still more, 125, 175, 225, etc.
Then they could release a new Tundra T1000. Backtracking FTW.

LT LTZ and LS stand for nothing according to GM on the newer cars. But really, who gives a flying @!#$.....

I thought WS6 was an engine code, but maybe I'm crazy.

Stupid no money to buy an edit button.
LT: Lots of Toast. They design these models exclusively over breakfast
LTZ: Lots of Tricky Zebras. They actually drive these cars around in africa, trying to run over Zebras with them. This is the new standard for GM safety and performance testing.
LS: Longer Seats. Not a common fact, but all LS trim levels come with seats exactly 2.7cm longer than others.
And if you believe that, I want what you're smoking.drinking.

WS-6 is not an engine code. It a performance package added on to Trans Ams and Formulas.

The problem with a Type Z is the car will naturally perform worse in Canada because up there it will instead be a Type Zed, and that's instantly -50hp for language error.

Actually, in Canada, we have to rebadge Type Zeds. They have to be marked as Type-ZA. This way, Americans don't get confused when we tell them "I got a Type Zed, eh."

Well not to be funny but my 85 cav is a type 10.I have 3 of those sporty emblems I guess it is intended to make my 86 hp go way faster, but really its a trim/interior option for mine.I think if I had a type 20 I would have more power and navigation maybe.
