I was just cruising around trader.ca, and came across this 2007 Dodge Nitro SXT at a dealer fairly close to me. It is Brand new with only 8kms on it, and priced about $6,000 under dodge.ca's MSRP. Only thing I can't tell from the add, is if it 4x4 or not. Do they only come in 4x4? Or is there a 4x2 option?

This seems like a really good deal for the GF if she likes it. I think they are cool looking, nice interior. The EPA ratings on this is 22mpg city, 32mpg highway.
Anyhow, what do you guys think of these? Should I go look, or is it a waste of my time?
Thanks.

It comes in both trims. 2x4 or 4x4.

I would think, at this price it is 4x2. Anyone know if it is a FWD or RWD 4x2?

From all that I've read, the Nitro is a heap, I'd pass it up if I were you.

Ummm, perhaps I'm the last of a dying breed and I actually read stuff printed on paper products, so it's a tidge tricky to link to that.

I too have heard nothing but bad about them. friend had one for a rental car it and it didnt last long...
Their ugly as @!#$ and dealers can't give them away so Chrysler axed them. If your looking for something similar try the Jeep Compass or Patriot.
It is not 4wd, so I am not going to bother looking at it.

Did you just really say that?
The interior is far cheaper and horrid than any J-body. The plastic in that thing makes the Cavaliers interior look and feel like a BMW in comparison. They do suck for the most part...due to them sharing a lot in common with the Neon the replaced (mechanically)

Only saw the pics online. Looked ok, but I can't tell what it is made of from a small picture. Don't really care though, not interested anymore.

Love that dealers finance option
Price $18,985.00
Payment Info $2,985.00 down, $345.00 per month, 84 months
Notice they don't list the interest rate, because it 19 F*&^@$ %, for 7 years. You would have to have some horrible credit to take that offer!

Your thinking of the Caliber. The Dodge Nitro is a Jeep Liberty redesigned by a blind man.

Your right.
LOL
But upon rereading it the Nitro has a lot of recalls and issues if i remember reading not too long ago. I'd steer clear of them too. Prtty much stay away from any Chrysler product and your golden.

I drove one as a rental and also its counterpart the liberty and it wasn't that bad
Major Turd.
Same with the Caliber.
I dont know which end of the 8 day bender I was on when I found myself sitting in one at a local dodge dealership with Igor the immigrant car salesman telling me about the the ease of use 4 speaker radio controls with a heavy ruski accent ... 'eez good yes, easy yes, control ... much ... close, understand?'
Fu<k Dodge.
Junk, Junk , Junk.....
My buddy has 12 Nitros in the shop for all kinds of different things...
The Caliber is even a bigger piece....my brother would like to set his on fire.....
Get a used '03-'04 Grand Cherokee for the same price.
