my dream car is a 85-87 corolla GTS. ive been looking for one cheap that runs with the 4AGE in it but all i can find is the SR5 and they dont have the DOHC 4AGE.my plan is to buy one that runs and redo the bodywork and interior and buy another 4AGE with low miles and rebuilt it for turbo at the same time. but i cant find any corolla close for cheap OR any engines. i can find the silver top ones but those are FWD and not RWD engines. i have seen them in the AE86 tho but i dont kno much about them or how to swap those in (the intake would be pointing towords the firewall) and ive seen a few black tops for sale ( i have no idea about these) ive tried finding sites with all the information about them but i cant find any. so this is where i need your help. does anyone have a clue to as where i can go to find the info that i need? if any one has help that would be great. thanks
Go to club4ag.com. You'll find EVERYTHING you could ever want to know about the AE's. I have a 84 SR5 that I'll hopefully be starting working on this summer.
Wanna cry? I could have bought one for 300$ back in 2002. My cousin was selling his GTS. It was a red coupe with black interior. I deeply regret not buying it.
A cheap, running, non-rusted 4AGE AE86 doesn't exist. They're either all horridly overpriced or completely beaten up. Yeah, you might find Farmer Bob who's never heard of drifting selling his for $500 out in East Bumfark, Nebraska, but the odds are extremely slim. Even the busted ones have been snatched up by all the drifting fanbois.

By buddy had a GTS and it was fun little car. Im not sure what engine it had in it, but it was rwd and posi. I think he still might have it tucked away somewhere.

Key word here is "non-rusted" God those things rusted fast! My cousin's was in pretty bad shape towards the end there. Still wished I'd bought it, but it would have needed a complete body restauration.
i <3 those cars.

Aim low and you're guaranteed to succeed I suppose.
But seriously, they are my favorite beginner car in every racing game. No one expects the Trueno to whip some ass.
ha my dads got a 86... completely stock... its got 140k kms on it... its his daily... i love ripping around in it when i get the chance... surprisingly peppy!
God I wish. There was one in decent shape for sale here, but I was broke. I would've had to rip the rice wing and sh1tty rims off of it, but it was damn near in mint condition from what I saw.

UGH. I HATE when companies re-use names for nostalgia alone: there's no way in hell that the old weight of the AE86 would allow it to pass safety. I bet you the weight is double that of the original.

im into ae86's too.
this ones mine. i own three now (one parts car). they are a blast to drive and get sideways. im going turbo soon, which really doesn't take much to get these things movin. they are an awesome car though. you can rev them at 7500 all day long and shift at 8000 so..... thats with the 4age. but ever since the whole drift scene has really been gettin popular, the prices on the rwd corollas are nutz. lol. even parts.
ive found some cheap ones on club4ag.com
