Well, I just did a kbb and they said about 10.5k and an in excellent body condition . The only thing I added was premium wheels and its a manual. 11.5k seems kinda high, I'd probably tell him that 11k please you and him. They seem like VERY good cars.
Good body condition: 9.7k
Fair body condition: 8.8k
Just an FYI
dan
if i were you i would hop on it, but i would throw him an offer a little lower then 11k.
Try 9500 and meet some where in the middle.

Ditto. I'd scoop that up in a heartbeat if I were in the market.

Wow! We were just looking at a '97 Outback Sport here, no frills, 121k going for $4500. I'd be very interested in the one you linked to if I was able to purchase! Looks very sharp. I'd have a mechanic look it over just to be safe, but it seems like a good catch.
BTW I <3 Subaru. Good decision!
Subaru Impreza's ftw.. tons of parts and mods available. Fun to drive too
I sat in an 07 Impreza at the Pittsburgh Auto Show this year, damn near went out and bought one. They are really nice cars. Heck, if there are any left-over 07's next spring I still might buy one.
Did you go check this car out?
I'm going on sunday afternoon to take a look at it. I'm trying to see if I am able to get approved for a personal loan. That way I keep the title and don't have to fully insure it. my credit score is 728 but I dont have much of a credit history, just my z24 that i financed but that was paid off 2 years ago. got to call banknorth on monday. the lady basically said for a personal loan of 8K (which is all i need) It would be $200 a month for 4 years or $250 month for 3 years. I'll keep you updated.
Steve
Ouch! Did you check into if it would cost less to actually insure it then it would for the interest on that loan? I took out a personal loan once to do some work on my house, the interest on them isn't ever very good. Plus with winter coming up, maybe full coverage would be a good thing. I know your NH insurance laws are way different then here in PA, my ex was from NH & he told me about it before.
If you do get it, you won't belive the difference when the snow comes. You can't wipe the grin off my face when I'm driving my Outback in the snow!
subaru ftw!
looks like a pretty good deal considering the aftermarket goodies that come with the car.
Well...?
I'm living through you, so I want to hear what happened
I went and looked at it today. It's a nice car. a few dings in the passenger side door but thats about it. I drove for about 5 miles down some nice country roads and I must say this car handles about 3 times better than my cavalier ever did. shifts good, sounds awesome with the exhaust on there, I took it to a parking lot and did some tight circles w/ the windows down, no weird noises or anything. Seems to have some pretty good power (it aint no WRX but its pretty peppy). He said he'll replace front pads before anyone buys it.
He was asking 11.5k so I offered him 9.5k cash, but he owes 10.5k on it so he said thats "pretty much as low is I can go". The car actually has 58,300 miles on it. so now KBB is 10.3k in EXCELLENT condition and 9.7k in good condition. I took down the VIN and i'll probably do a carfax tonight. if it comes back clean i'll offer him 10k cash but i think thats about as high as I wanna go. theres probably about 10 little knicks in the door from where his wife hit it with her door in the garage and one skittle sized dent in the same door. So it is closer to good condition than excellent condtion.
I did really like the way it drove though.
what do you guys think?
-Steve
i wouldnt do more than the 10 you said
so i say go for it if you liked it
10K or bust

good to know i'm not the only one looking to drop the j-body for a scooby. I too am looking at wagons, but i want a wrx. I went and checked one out tonight that my buddy's dealership took in on a trade. These cars are amazing.
I am in the same boat with you guys. I want an 04 WRX. I can't wait to be able to afford it

Dings give it character, although not so much if it's just because his wife can't open her door right
Good luck, it's leaps and bounds above anything you'll find in that price range from GM & will last 3 times as long.
they are good cars... i've owned two subarus now and my next car will probably be one too.
Just because he is stuck owing 10.5k doesn't mean that's what he should get for it. Stick to your guns at no higher than 10.

Def. stick to 10k. Can't blame you either. I'd rock it in a heartbeat. I'm thinking that next year I may trade my Pathfinder in for a turbo Forester, so the Subie love continues with the org....
