Since everyone else has posted pics of theirs I thought I'd finally snap some shots of mine! Mine is a 1984 Camaro Z28, I bought the car for $2000 on July 5th. It has the carb 305 H.O. V8, Auto Trans, 700R-4 Trans, T-Tops, Power Windows, Locks, and the A/C even still works. I've wanted one since I was a kid, but I'm not sure how I'm going to afford fixing it up the way I'd like to... Anyways, Comments Please!
Thanks for checking it out, I'd like to hear some comments
nice.

Thanks bud! I hope someday the engine can look like that. Planning on a 350 H.O. swap, but I don't know much about engines/performance I gotta do my studying first.
I've tried typing www.nyfbody.com 100 ways and I'm not finding it...

its about the only air cleaner that will fit, if u see i cut my hard fuel lines to the tbi unit because i just couldnt get them to work right, so i replaced them with EFI rated tubing and even the stock air cleaner wont fit on, also a few custom vacumm lines get in the way in the back too.

if u cant afford the stuff you want, just hold onto for awhile, they make fun daily drivers. i say if u cant afford all the crap you want now just throw an exhasut and a couple other things and drive it. who cares its not fast.

Brings back memories, same car for me but it was white. Pretty clean for $2k.

You selling the car or something, or??
Yeah, thats me on there. I'm thinking about it. I just don't know if I can afford to do all the things I planned on doing with the car. I can't make up my mind so thats really just a feeler for sale post.
Dude, I've had mine for over 1 1/2 years. Know what I have done to it? Wheels and tires, plenty of maintanence, a stereo.. and replacing interior parts to make it look stock, also an alarm system, and an electric cut-out.. that's it. I just bought a dis assembled 350 for it also, trying to get rid of my wheels for parts to build the motor or for cash so I can build the motor.. I can get another set easily with where I work.
I don't have the money right now to get serious with the car, but I have the money to maintain it and drive it like I stole it.
1983 Camaro Z28
thinking about the bike, eh?
you know you want one
The thing is, I'm not driving it now. It's not registered and even if it was I couldn't afford the gas for it. In a couple years I should have a good paying steady job and then i should be good to go. My plans are to go all black interior, 18" chrome iroc whees, lowered suspension, exhaust, paint. I wanna do an engine swap but I definitely don't have the funds for it for at least a few years. I'm leaning toward keeping it because I love the car, its just the thought of that extra $2000 and moving out that makes me think about selling it.
i actually calculated how much ive spent on my car so far
2500-motor
300-intake
300-headers
200-tbi
80-injectors 55pph
200- new injector pod with 90pph
200-harmonic damp and flexplate
500-torque convertor
125- aluminum driveshaft
150-posi rear end used
800- conservative amount that was spent on odds and ends (including parts that were wrong that i never sent back and new waterpump, starter, alternator etc)
5300 roughly
i still need:
1400-trans
500-rear brakes
400- new tires
thats just to make it driveable. i still need bodywork and paint and i would like to get zl1 rims better brakes upfront suspension and a supercharger.
this @!#$ isnt cheap.

^^^
Nice list...
I made up a parts list for all the stuff that I want to do to my protege...easily around 4k...and thats just some basic go-fast bull@!#$...
Like Borsty said, modifying a car isn't cheap...if it was, everyone would have custom rides all over hell. The thing that makes moding your car to your own personal taste is the fact that not everyone does it. Sure there will be quite a few other 3rd gen camaros out there that are like yours, but its the money that you put into your own that makes it unique. Its the dedication not only in time, but in finances too that make modifying a car so fufilling.
I wish I could find parts! I've been to 6 junkyards and haven't found anything that I'm looking for:
91-92 Front, Sides Rear
Hood Struts, Hatch Struts
Black Seats, Black Carpet
Black Door Panels, Black Headliner
No luck so far!
Mark: Nice, the paint needs help though... and the stereo... Otherwise if it's still driveable, good score.
Yeah, definitely needs paint but thats down the road. I wanna fix up the body and go all black interior first.
try spending $400 on a cam, and $800 on headers guys. then you'll know what expensive modding is
but, nice car. very very clean for the year and price.
borsty, i never found out how your projects going. i dont know if i missed it or y ou just havent posted much
Andy
it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.
ZZP XP cam, 1.6 rockers, 105# springs, speedbuilt FWI, 3.3" modular pulley, TOG headers,
3" exhaust, flomatched injectors
'97 GTP 14.06@100.6mph pre cam w/ 3.5" pulley, I/E

your not going to find any of that at any junkyard, hatch struts and hood strut can be bought at autozone, advance auto etc. any carpet, seats, or headliner at a junkyard would be junk if u actually found it.
http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ is a lifesaver for 3rd geners
-Borsty
Hawk's is great but I'm going to wait it out and hope to get lucky at the junkyards because Hawk's is $$$$$$$. So Borsty if you ever come across any of these, give me a shout ASAP!!!!!
- 91-92 Front Bumper, Side Skirts, Rear Bumper
- Black Seats
- Black Door Panels
Or anything else you find, Thanks bud!
