my brother has a 1997 jeep wrangler when it idles it the oil pressure is at the bottom but when he sytarts to go the oil presure goes all the way up so any ideas of what it might be
When you say bottom, like no pressure at all?
It is normal to drop down at idle and rise with rpms... Most say about 10 psi for every 1000 rpm...
no it goes down to like 9 then to the max but my brother is a retard all he had to do is change the oil and it was fine but thanks dude
I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you need a new engine. This has been a problem with the Chrylser/Jeep inline-six for years. What has happened is this. The oil pump is driven by the in block cam. When the cam bearing errode away as in your case, the pump nolonger spins at idle. The whole engine is eating itself right now. There is no fix and no warning. You just have to get a new motor.
