HELL NO to the exterior.
A pleased "ooooo" to the engine.
John Piparo: I have an erection!! You guys are turning me on!
As cool as an LS7 in a cobalt.
Wow, that thing is awesome. I would drive one in a heartbeat.
will never happen. VW doesnt liek the W12 for soem reason. Thats why the phaeton didnt last long...cool though

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
^ THe Phaeton didnt last long cause it was a $100,000 VW. If it was priced as a Rolls, or some other high dollar car, im sure it woulda sold a TON more then it did.
And yea, ill take 2.

where in the hell can they fit a bi-turbo w12 at in that thing? i've seen under the hood of one of those and there isnt hardly any room with the 2.0t.

I have a feeling it is behind the driver. As for the 202mph top speed I am sure it is possible but would it be stable at that speed, I doubt they ever planned on the golf going that fast.

The concept is cool yet idk. Seems silly.

Concept cars don't need to conform to crash laws.

Did that do it for you? Exterior is in same league as Renault Clio Kinda Meh-ish.... At least to your friendly neighbourhood GAM-merman.
i love that thing!!

Yup... Looks way too much like the V6 Clio. And, yes, the engine would have to be rear mounted.
I'd rock it. Just like that, with maybe a slightly smaller diameter wheel.

ya know... i'm all for excess when it comes to drivetrain... but even i have to ask "WHY?" in reference to this....

not quite
the V8 was the base model, the W12 was the high end version, the W12 4 seater is the top of the line. The highest optioned ones cracked $105,000. The reason they didn't last is because they were overpriced and junk. They draged thier feet for so long developing the thing by the time it came out it was filled with outdated 90's technology, way behind the times. They didn't sell, dealers had they and couldn't get rid of them, my dealer was the only place really going through them, we sold more then the rest of the country combined. Another issue was the fact that extended warranty companys didn't want to have anything to do with the W12's.
Bingo.^
Nobody was going to pay $100K for the "People's car." Oddly more people bought its equivalent: the Audi A8. I guess it is all in the name.
You have to remember that also the W12 is compact, it is just a fraction bigger then a V6: in which this chassis already carries. Each of cylinders are not in-line in which it will extend its length like a "V" or "I" design.
Look what I mean.

^^^ yeah, its two 15 degree narrow-angle VR6 blocks siamesed, basically.... But still, I'd have settled for a 3.2L VR6 TT in mid-mount configuration, no need for the W12 to make it not only unlikely to ever be produced, but even less likely to be remotely affordable if it were produced.

they probobally didn't want to do that because they know that motor would crap out, just like the rest of the 3.2's
I don't like VB's especially the Golf. This however, i would rock in a heart beat. I would even pay for it if it was under 40K.
