Finished Installing ITBs On My Bro's 92 Teg.
Tuesday, February 06, 2007 4:41 PM
Well, I had to take it easy and hid my Talon for a little while. Long story short, racing, stolen tags, no stopping for police, FairFax County APB by about 4:13 A.M. (New Record). Kids don't try this at home( Fulfilled JBO Obligations!). So I and my bro decided to work on his 92 Acura Integra LS for a couple of mouths. The project contained the following mods and parts:

B16A2 Head on B18A1 block (LS/VTEC)
Skunk2 Stage 2 Cams
Complete Valve train rebuild .
Venom Fuel Rail
DSM 450CC injectors
Apex'i SAFC II
Suzuki GSX'R TBs
LS Stock Manifold
DC Sport Headers
Greddy Exhaust
High Flow
GM 3 bar MAFs
255lph Fuel Pump
Skunk2 ECU
YS1 Transmission.

Here are the pics I have:
Pic1
Pic2
Pic3
Pic4
Pic5

Sorry they are not the best, but it is what I had on hand. The ITBs are not easy to maintain and require alot to reset the TBs equally. About ever 1500 miles I, check the vac reading on each one. I lost quit a bit in the bottom end but when it starts to roll the car is extremely fast. Opinions?

There is a vid on streetfire of a s2k with that done. While neat in principle for a car like that it seems to be more for sound that performance.

I have to disagree the car is extremely fast. Definietly a real road course racer. If sound was the only thing I wanted I would have gone to Pep boys and just bought a muffler. I wouldn't be so quick to judge. I'm a V8 type of person and this car surprised me.

The car looks like it is barely moving but sounds good.
Idk, maybehis is quick. What does it run at the track/dyno #s?

bingo , I just don't consider what the car would run in the 1/4 to be fast, it maybe faster than stock or faster than whatever your used to but I would not say it's fast . I think the money could be put to better use performance wise. He asked for oppinions so theres mine.

yeah i agree cause there are alot of other things that he could either save for or buying besides doing the ITBs next like for example....the dc sports header is junk, the apexi safc is junk, the LS stock manifold is junk, the venom fuel rail is junk, the skunk2 ecu is junk, and the injectors r junk..............there r many great better but expensive companies that make way way better headers like SMSP, Rage, Pro-Fab etc so there header options, for engine management there Hondata so no need for safc or skunk2 ecu, for the manifold if u truly have the vtec head then u can go with something as cheap as the ITR or skunk 2 intake manifold at least coupled with the ITR throttle body and port matched with the manifold its on, also if u do have the vtec head the fuel rail on them is good for quite a bit of NA horsepower so the venom one is not needed and as for injectors something smaller and from RC Engineering will do also. i prob forgot some things here and there and thats my opinion but like i said before its cool that u were willing to try the ITBs, def a cool project to try out.

Brutal I was not brutal in the slightest , sorry if I hurt your feelings as for my project car you'll have to wait and see like everyone else but close friends as it won't be done until after next winter , But lets just say it should run high 12's -mid 13's without nitrous.

I would have to agree, he wasn't being brutal, just voicing his opinion.

How do you know this integra wont be in 11's by next winter?

Looks fine. Looks like a v-tec B16a2 head all besides for the valve cover (which I believe is interchangable.) If it is, I can't see how ITBs would hurt it. Nice to see the performance work, just damn those are ugly cars. (probably the same thing you'd say to me ^_^ )

Never once said it wouldn't, But I highly doubt it will. d@mn SOME of you people need to chill out.
(Not to offend any honda owners anywhere but really what r the chances unless this car gets a swap or engine completley tweaked. the reason my next project will be fast is because awd i'll be the first to say it.)

I do have to agree with you a little. My Talon I converted to AWD because of the traction issues that FWD has. While my brother's Integra is fast but FWD just has less grip the AWD or RWD. With the addition of a 20G turbo on my DSM, I risked snapping the trans from wheel hop.

AWD DSM + $$$$= fast

Fwd cars have the least drivetrain loss while AWD has the most so if you put wheelie bars on your FWD car then you should take off like a rocket because they prevent the weight transfer to the rear.

And yes, I even tried hitting on her =P
