I am lookin at a 05 SRT-4 it's got 11,000 on the clock. very clean black stage 0. FMIC other wise stock. dealer wants 17k for it. Is this a good buy for it, how are the quality of them. I test drove on before and liked it alot.

I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'

Sounds like a good price on a pretty decent car, but MAKE SURE you can handle the payments. I learned that the hard way when I bought my WRX. That car puts a smile on my face everytime I hit the gas, but let me tell you how much of a dent a car payment on a 06 WRX plus 5k in negative equity on the Cavy makes on the old budget. Too many bills come out of nowhere to push your $$ limits to the max.
Not to mention that disease called "modding your car" gets 100x worse when you have a car like that.
You definetely don't want to see the repo man hauling away your new baby.........

I wouldn't pay 17000 for it. If you could get it for 15 then maybe.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. I always get freaked out about buying a used cars that are made to go fast because theres a good chance the person who owned it before you beat up on it pretty good.

Well you know that you would have to assume they did some things to it other than the FMIC. The FMIC may be the only thing they left on tho. Appearances can be decieving.

Thats the problem with buying cars like an SRT4 because they can always keep the stock parts and put them back on when they trade the car in.

I think its a good deal just make sure you check everything over.

I had to go out and drive 3 different Black GTO's before I settled on a certain one lol yes I'm picky

If you want something fast? Yes.

If you want to look like you're still in highschool? Yes.

Go Vette or Goat, or Go Broke. Hehe. J/k. After my commute GAS+PAYMENTS+INSURANCE= -Bank Account. Gotta find something that fits your budget, so if you're squeaking it buy at 17k, Neon is prolly the best bet.

With a 17k budget, he could pick up an early 90's Camaro with an LT1 and a 6 speed, have money to modify it, and insurance can't be that bad unless he has a bad driving record. And it would be faster than a Neon, and let's face it.. it's not a Neon.

Not that I don't like the SRT-4, but it's a glorified Neon.

My insurance only went up $100.00 a YEAR over my cavalier..Full coverage too..
Think about it. Insurance is based on the vehicle in numbers of accidents and crashes. It would cost me more to insure a trans am or camaro. Since no one really smashed vettes( not saying it doesn't happen) the insurance is cheaper..

17K for a Neon is crazy. turboed or not. lol Shop around some more man, at least find a better deal..
