Ok so i want to buy a 1988 caddy seville. The 4.5L motor is blown. and i want to get another one. BUT...afriend is trying to talk me out of this because of all the air suspension problems and their wiring probelms. does anybody know what the downsides are to buying this car?

Rule #1 of buying a daily driver:
If "Cost to repair car" > "Cost of Car", Car = bad choice.
If you just sick and twisted and want to buy that car for a project, well meh, the next is as good as the other.
