it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.

cool cool. they're great cars. just do yourself a favor, research before you do ANYTHING. and just when you've decided exactly what you want, research again. these cars are easy to make fast, and easy to blow up (not litterally blow up, but if you do things like just dropping a pulley with no other mods, it's easy to chip a piston)

yeah i have heard you can't just slap mods on it. With out some research. Within the next year the only thing i may do is an intake. Any other suggestions.

intake, exhaust (at least 3" downpipe and u-bend delete), custom pcm and 3.5" pulley (the last two can be done around the same time)

to drop to a smaller puley you've gotta add things like headers, intercooler, ported blower, blah blah blah. that's when you really start gettin into the money

Since when do you have to add headers and stuff to swap a pulley?

If you wanna get smaller than a 3.4" pulley you need to.

Re: GTP website

Been to club GTP and the 04+ is a finiky car you don't just slap a smaller pulley on there. Mod to this car is going to take thought and money to do so you don't screw it up. It is easy to mess up the engine buy just slapping stuff on.

Sound like clubgp.com is going to be another JBO but a little older crowd. BS talkers, people giving wrong info, pissing contests.

Re: GTP website

well they do call clubgp , clubdrama for a reason , lol

the boost bypass is a little more controlling then the older 1's , my friend with a 04 and a 3.4 vs stock pulley was seeing the same amount of boost and running mid 14's , then found out the boost bypass was keeping the boost at 9 , and with it disconnected he was getting 11-12 , but his milage droped around town , and he hasnt changed his driving

intense and zzp seam to fight back and forth from time to time

you doubt me? a 3.5" pulley is the smallest pulley you can safely run with both stock exhaust manifolds and no intercooler. some people can get by with a 3.4". some cant. i know a guy who's getting killer KR on a 3.5", 3" dp, ported manifolds, CAI, and a custom computer tune. it all depends on the car. some cars react well to pulley swaps, some dont. but dont go just randomly throwin on a 3.4" pulley with no tune and no exhaust work and bitchin to me when you blow it up. im not sayin it's not possible. many do it, but about a quarter of those who do hit up on KR and would be running faster with a 3.5" and more timing.

the '04+ GTP's have an even harder time running the smaller pulleys because they get higher boost numbers from a like sized pulley. 10 or so lbs of boost on a 3.5 and a gen V blower as opposed to 8ish on a gen III blower. that being said, a car running a series III engine with a gen V blower would get more power off of a 3.5" than a series II with a gen III blower and a 3.4".

You may actually lose power with a 3.4 pulley without the supporting mods. KR is a killer. And it's niot all about running the smallest pully possible anymore.....more timing and a modest pulley is where it's at.

And if you plan on doing any mods....it would be a wise idea to get something (the program of your choice) to log KR with.

Re: GTP website

oh yeah! thanks Lash!

SCANNER. you need a scanner. you MUST scan. it's one of the most important parts to modding GTP's. it lets you know what's goin on. what the car likes, what it doesnt like. and if you're REALLY car savvy, you can tune as well.

scanners
Autotap
LS1M

tuners
DHP Power tuner
HPtuners

just go onto clubgp and search for those. you'll find all the info you need. reviews, sights to buy em, blah blah blah.

thanks again Lash, cant believe i forgot that.
