So I've been MIA here on the .org for a bit now. Mainly because i've jumped over to 8thcivic.com since I bought a new civic back in june.
For those looking at other cars; give the new civics a test drive. I absolutly love it. I'm getting far better gas mileage (35city 41highway). Not to mention the upgrade in h/p from my 2.2 ohv cavy.
Here's some pics for you guys/girl's.

It looks nice, I love that shade of blue...congrats.
ughh.. Sorry, but I don't like it.. The windshield looks longer than the hood? I think Honda has ruined the civic..

You obviously haven't driven one then. My ex had 2000 and I used to drive it regularly. I went and test drove both the 2 and 4 door 06 civics. They are so much roomier, have more power, and are cosmetically more attractive.
This is definitly a car I would consider if I was looking for a 2 door.
The paint color wasn't my first choice but at the time you couldn't be picky with the new civics. They have been selling at MSRP and 1-5g OVER msrp. I was lucky enough to get mine a little under msrp but still had to wait 2 months to get it (special orders take around 6 months. The dealership gave me a list of what they had coming in within 2 months) After getting the car though the paint grew on me. It's called atomic blue metallic. Depending on the sunlight it can look light blue or dark blue with really visible metallic flakes.

The winshield is enormous and the hood is tiny. It's pretty cramped in the engine area, not a whole lot of wasted space. Personally, I LOVE the big winshield, I can see a whole lot more in front of me.
I'm not sure how exactly honda has ruined the civic? The previous model was where they REALLY dropped the ball as far as looks/performance. They caught a lot of crap for the past couple years which is why they decided to completly redesign the entire car. Personally I dunno how a car that gets 145h/p with 35+MPG in the city is ruined. Or the fact it was motor trends car of the year. Or the fact that it's hard to find coupes at any dealership and people generally wait about 2-5 months before they can get one.
Now before people start thinking that i'm praising honda and putting down chevy/pontiac, I am not. I had planned on buying a solstice or mini cooper until I realized what my insurance would be. I test drove the cobalt, the ion, the g6, And was pretty set on getting another GM. That was until I test drove the civic and fell in love with it. In all honesty it's a car you'll have to test drive before you can make up an opinion about it.

Nice choice! Not sure why people don't like the way they look? The new style looks cool...IMO. There's a dude in my neighborhood that just picked up a Red Si...very nice.
This is the only stlye i like.
My buddy bought a Si with the HPE package or some @!#$ like that. It took a little getting used to as the Interior is wacked. But it is a very fun little car to drive. Quick as well.
Congrats
Probably one of the best compacts out there, smart buy! That car's styling is futuristic and not a cookie cutter design. And on that note... beautiful car/color and congrats.

honda could @!#$ in a bag, put a civic badge on it and they would call it car of the year...there nothing but nut swingers
oh and the civic is a great car, im just not too crazy about the exterior styling, altho i wasnt crazy about the jettas but they have grown on me
perhaps these will too
im not saying the civic isnt a decent car...just not the peice of machinery made in the hands of the gods like some like to think it is, but everyone is entitled to an opnion ,, and if you guys were trying to say that im trying to say i think mine is perfect...i know damn well it isnt lol

... you got rid of your cavalier for a honduh civic?
mwahahhahahahahahahahahha .... bad choice.
I like it , nice color.
The more I see the new Civics, the more I like them.... especially the Si's.

no we are pointing out that all the cobalt owners make their pieces of machinery out to be made by the hands of gods
civic > cobalt
why? well probably because where the cobalt is now, the civic was 12 years ago (development wise)
Last pic looks kind of like a mini G35 coupe. Nice ride, wish I could afford one!
Gotta keep on livin', L-I-V-I-N
their actually quite affordable. The SI is actually cheaper then the cobalt SS and some places. While 1/4 races may be a drivers race between the two, the handling of the SI is far better.
I opted for the LX (the ex had some other goodies but the moonroof was all I cared about and for an extra 3g for the ex, I decided to live without the moonroof).
It is a bit pricier then the base cobalt but it has everything i need. Power windows/locks, more airbags then you could imagine. ABS, immobilizer, alarm, keyless entry and a bunch of other nice creature comforts. After test driving the cobalt and the ion, the interior (albiet very different), was much more ergonomically designed. The plastic dash pieces and what not have been known to scratch and are of low quality but what compact car under 20,000 isnt? I do miss my ol cavy. It's currently nothing more then a frame in my garage (gutted it for parts).
Although honda is growing on me quite a bit i'm still a GM man at heart. Now if only they could pull their heads outta their rears and come up with something that isn't decades behind the european/asian market.
What cracked me up was this whole time I thought the civic was an "import" turns out it has more parts manufactured and assembled in canada and the US then the cobalt. "Buy American" taken on a whole new meaning.

nice buy i guess, i just really don't like the look of the new civics at all. ill stick with my reliable rattle box for a little longer till GM impresses me with a compact better than the cobalt.
