You are going to have roughly 200 people tell you to just get the SE20DET (I know, I know, I probably got the engine code wrong) and do a Silvia front end swap.

And you know what? They'd be right. Especially if you have a good shell car. S13 ftw.

agreed with the above, though this forum wouldn't be the best place to get a nissan motor...try the 240 forums...and POST PICTURES!

It's only a couple grand more for an RB25

I just swapped an RB into my '96 240...well...GOING to get it done. Just paid for the motor, trans, ecu, new suspension, exhaust, intercooler, injectors etc.....................going to be some fun times...

There is nothing wrong with the SR20DET. I like it just fine. As long as it has the T at the end.

man I disagreed with you when I first bought my 240. I wanted to stay with the ka, sence then I have came to relize that the RB motors are just bad ass. go RB, be different, if you have the money an rb26 would be sick but seeing you just want the truck motor I dought you'll go that route

It all depends what you want it for. If you want to drift or race raod course then go SR20DET. If you want to drag then ya go RB all the way.

Dont let everyone drag you down on the KA24DE. They are good strong motors and can be bad ass. Before I got the camaro I was dead set hard core on a 240sx and did tons of research. There's KA24DE's with turbos pushing some damn good numbers. Its not as well balanced as the SR20 but will still give you great handeling capabilities.

Everyone who talks about the motor being cheap so its a cheap swap has never dont a motor swap. If you got an SR20DET theres more then just buying the complete swap. You know there is always more to come. I've read sooo many post of people talking about their SR20 swaps. They said be prepared to spend 4-5k when its all said and done.

Go with what you want. Not what everyone else tells you. Theres nothing wrong with the KA, SR20, or any RB motor. Just depends on the route you want to go and how much power/money you're looking to spend.

local shop is a 4-5k for a turn key swap. depending on upgrades. fmic, clutch, bov, etc.

honestly.. C18 swaps seem to be popular. couple of them started coming up.

Damn, if you would of posted this a couple months ago my buddy could of just given you his KA that we just took out.

If you have some extra money lying around, go for a SR or RB swap.

Have a good one,
Justin
