Well the title says it all. I went to Carlisle this weekend with my friend that has a Skyline and all I can say is it is faster than anything else I have been in. This thing was wicked! I need to go through some of the footage and I will post some vids.

Was is the black one? My friends Civic hatchback and Lancer were parked right next to it under the canopy. Sharp looking car and the owner was a pretty cool guy to talk to.

yes that was his car under the canopy in topflight. we got kicked out on sunday. kinda got a kick out of that.

Maybe I forgot to mention a fully built RB26DETT by Tomei in Japan with upgraded turbos, Nismo front mount, Apexi 4 inch (don't know the MM) TBE, APexi intakes, and generates 550 AWHP. If that is a pig then i guess.

R34's do have a bit of a weight problem but nothing that motor can't more than make up for..
drive an R34 with a built motor, and drive an R32 with a built motor. you'd see a difference immediately. the 32 outhandles the 34...it's far more nimble.

i was there and somehow managed to miss it. my friend was like, did you see the r34? and i was like no @!#$ way.
Well needless to say most people don't even the option to drive or ride in for that matter one Skyline let alone a R32 and a R34. Personally I am not a big fan of the R32, but do enjoy the R33. Irregardless the car is fast. I am still working on editing some video footage to put on the net. Did anyone else see the jet powered golf cart. Brad got video of him running up and down the lanes, but I didn't get it yet.

true, but some of us have.
i'll admit, it's a matter of taste - but as far as pure performance is concerned, the 32 beats the 34 in my mind.

Doesn't matter what beats what or what outperforms what, its cool that you got a chance to ride in it! I'd love to get a chance to at least see one in person. Get some pics or vids up if you can!!

There is some a local Silvia and Skyline club that meets around my house on Mondays. I've seen some of tthem perform, they drag ok stock, but most of the owners prefer to road race them. I'll see if I can snag some footage next time.
I am still waiting to here from streetfire on the confirmation of my two vids.
I still get a kick out of this. I love the Skyline. Wish I could have one. But it amazed me when I went to Japan. The first time I saw one, I was all pumped up about it. Like "Holy medievel murder, Batman! An R34 Skyline!!" By the time I left two weeks later I had seen so many it was like "Oh, look. Another Skyline." I still want one though.

that r34 was beautiful. more of a performance car than a show car though.
No, we going back to load the car and Brad got on it a bit and it spun all 4 wheels a bit and security got pissy. They said we had to take the car outside to load it, no exceptions. Things got a bit out of hand then. The sign was more of a joke between the group of us. Brad didn't expect to win anything, he was just trying to generate exposure and I believe he did that this past weekend. To my knowledge there was more of a crowd around his car at any given time then any other top flight car. He was interviewed by some syndicated program and will be on TV (so says the guy that interviewed Brad). We are hoping by the NOPI Nationals the car will have a few major sponsors and be in a vendors area.

Heres some info on the R34 I had to post on another board for someone who didn't know quite too much enjoy the novel.

In 1999, Nissan released the next generation GT-R, the R34. While Nissan had increased the length of the previous generation R33, the R34 was decreased by 7.5cm. The R34 GT-R is the most aggressive-looking to date and has been hailed as "The Real Supercar" by Road & Track.
As with the R32 and R33, the R34 keeps the RB26DETT as its powerhouse. Power is rated as 280hp @ 6800rpm, yet has shown to be closer to the 320hp range. The RB26DETT received new camshafts for improved valve timing and a new stainless steel exhaust system with reduced backpressure. Smaller twin ceramic intercooled turbochargers, with variable boost timing, enhances spool-up time and minimizes friction while smoothing and quieting the engine.
The R34 GT-R drivetrain continues the utilization of the ATESSA-ETS system, while upgrading to the ATESSA-ETS Pro for the V-Spec versions. The gearbox is upgraded to a 6sp vs. that of the R33's 5sp. The 6sp Getrag is a short-throw unit, with well-defined gates and featuring close ratio gearing for the first five gears. As with the R33, the rear utilizes a Limited Slip Differential. The body structure is 50% more stiff than the predecessors features a multilink setup in the rear with a MacPherson strut setup in the front (with an additional link). The V-Spec model uses a stiffer suspension setup than the standard GT-R. The Super HICAS system is still utilized and sway bars are present front and rear. The ABS braking system utilizes a Brembo setup with 4-piston 300mm vented discs up front and 2-piston 280mm discs in the rear. Large ducts in the front spoiler are utilized to channel air to the front brakes while the front undertray draws heated air away from the brakes due to a created low-pressure area. Bridgestone Potenza RE040 245/40/18's are utilized to help plant the car in the curves at .88G.
The R34 received a makeover including a new front fascia with lower front spoiler. V-Spec's add a front diffuser and a carbon fibre rear diffuser to regulate airflow along the underbody, thus adding additional downforce. The rear wing has been changed to a dual-level variant with a stiff main aerofoil and an adjustable flap allowing for four-angle adjustments. Wheel housings were further extended to support the new tire size.
The guages used within the previous GT-R versions are replaced with a 5.8" display mounted in the dash which allows monitoring of all system components. Data can be logged and downloaded for evaluation if required. The R34 adds a standard passenger-side airbag system and offers optional side airbags if desired. The console also receives upgraded aluminum inserts. The interior is spacious and remakably quiet for a sports car.

ATTESA-ETS
ATTESA-ETS is the advanced electronic version of Nissan's ATTESA Drivetrain. It is an acronym for Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All - Electronic Torque Split. The newer version of ATTESA-ETS is called ATTESA-ETS Pro.
How it works
ATTESA-ETS is an electronically controlled all wheel drive system that uses a 16-bit microprocessor that monitors the cars movements at 100 times a second. Some of the things monitored are wheel rotation, lateral acceleration and longtidual acceleration.
When slip is detected on a wheel, the system directs the torque away from that wheel to one that has traction. The advantage to a more traditional viscous coupling system is hundredths of a second.
In a standard setup, ATTESA-ETS sends all power to the back wheels, however, on loss of traction, the system can split the differential ratio between 0:100 front/rear and 50:50 front/rear.
In this setup, the car is not able to drift, because the system would counter the loss of traction by sending power to the front....
