id stick with the jeep
when i worked for a dodge dealer , i didnt see alot of awd come in for any kinda work , other than the regular maintence , and the regular 3300/3800 problems , which were minor , this was about 6-8 years ago
i've seen a couple of the power transfer units go on them (center differential) but only on high mileage cars that probably had never had them serviced. Other than that, the caravan, if taken care of, is a very reliable vehicle... if, god forbid, i ever had to remove my balls and buy a minivan, i wouldn't have any major doubts about buying a caravan.... any other dodge, thats a different story.

what about a subaru legacy wagon? awd, cargo capacity, relatively good gas mileage... they run forever... just a thought (i know you said no cars)

so would you suggest a grand or another XJ like mine. I never
test-drove a grand cherokee.... not sure about their handling.

lol. I don't know. They're not so bad if you give them the Startech
treatment (they're a tuning subsidiary of brabus)

my business partner had a 2000 legacy wagon a few years back.
It felt like a boat (my Cherokee was far more manoeuvrable), and
its powerband was very sluggish. I'm sure the new ones are much
better, but its not in my budget --it's one of the biggest reasons I'm
looking for a used american made car -- they have good pricepoints
and decent powerplants.
