98 Mailbu-new beater?
Thursday, March 16, 2006 1:22 PM
I was wondering the dealership lot a few days ago, and happened to see this car:

98 mailbu

72k, 3.1 all power (even moonroof)

Engine is in good shape (newer alt)

looks like someone's cat got a hold of the paint, but other than that, not too bad...

The cav wagon is looking like it is going to need some work (fuel tank, maybe fuel line,
EGR) and with 135k, it makes me wonder.....

They are asking 4900(us).....

I'd try to get it around 4 grand, and they might be able to give me 600-700 for the cav...

Hit it? Any issues with these years?

5k for a used malibu in the states ? You would probably just as better off finding a prix, Intrepid ect for the same Price.

I paid 4900 for my 99 malibu with 45k on it a year ago. They're asking too much. Nice reliable car though but its a 98 so its rated at 30 less horsepower and i forget how much less torque than mine. In mid 99 they switched to the newer 3100 which is rated at 180hp instead of of 150

We payed 4500 cash for a 98 Malibu, i dont remember how many miles were on it, but about 6 months after we bought it, i totalled it, other than that, we had one problem with it, the drivers side tail light had a bad socket, but all in all, a great car
