I may be new to this forum but not cavaliers......

had a 82 I put 150k on
had a 85 I put 100k on
had a 88 I put 140k on
had a 92 cavalier wagon with a 3.1 that I put 335k on.

all those cars.....no engine failures except the wagon @335k ....timing chain link broke......not the pin.
all those cars ... tranny on the wagon was rebuilt at 195k.......
I believe in maintenance........................I do 99.9% myself.
driving a 2012 equinox with 234k on it right now.

as you can see I have put 725,000 miles on cavaliers....

the reason I joined the forum is I just bought a 94 z24 convertible with 7800 miles on it.

it is in transit now and will be here next week
