motor mounts/gas mileage

just wondering, if you have bad mounts or broken ones etc: will that affect gas mileage and or the tranny?

my bottom mount is busted, and you can move the entire engine with one hand, i think im going to get the upper and lower mounts from ttr but i have been wondering about this...im getting terrible gas mileage and i cant really figure out why

how big of a difference are the mounts going to make?

im not sure about mpg. but get the mounts replaced asap. dont drive the car like that.it will just end up costing you way more when right now all you need is a new mount.

yeah, think about everything thats going on there....if your motor canbe swung, that means your trans, and axles can hve the same thing. id bet if you look at your axle boots right now, they are torn.

not to mention if it swings a lot, your exhaust can only flex so much...

but your motor is swinging all its torque, not applying it to the wheels, so more stress on the engine = worse mpg.

You shouldnt be "thinking" about anything, replace it before something else goes too....if it hasnt already. whether you replace it with ttr or stock, you can always upgrade later.

think of it this way, you can upgrade it with the money you might have saved by not having to buy new axles....

Very DANGEROUS.

Get them replaced asap!

I also recommend the RKSport Polyurethane Upper Motor Mount Insert
& RKSport Polyurethane Lower Motor Mount from CarCustoms.net
