So it starts....
Hopefully up and running before she goes away for the winter, goal is 400whp and 11 second 1/4 mile passes.
Hell yea man!! Imma be folowing this build because you seem to be pretty nifty when it comes to builds!! Im taking this is for an eco..rite?? Also is it for the blue Cavy with the front RK lip?? Cant wait to see some vids man..
Yes for an Eco, and no I don't own a blue cav, I own a burgundy sunfire.
oops my bad..hahahaha..Sory man but still stoked to watch this thread!!
About time already!
PRND321 Till I DIE
Old Motor: 160whp & 152ft/lbs, 1/4 Mile 15.4 @88.2
M45 + LD9 + 4T40-E, GO GO GO
I only picked it up on the weekend, gimmie a break...lol
Once I get everything cleaned up I will start installing, more pics later this week.
Love it man, can't wait to see it run down the track.
looking forward to updates!
Did you hit your n/a ET goal before doing so? (i lost track of your old build thread)
if you run 11's with 400hp I will be stokes since that shows the possibilities of mine
motivation to get mine going!!!
I dont recall your compression... care to share again please?
Mmmhm... more info on setup? Turbo? What's done/will be done to your tranny?
strat81 - I didn't...which sucks, wanted to break into the 12's and the best I managed was a 13.3. Things change tho and I want something that is proper fast, N/A wasn't gonna get me there.
BuiltNBoosted - Compression is guestimated at around 11.3:1, cams bleed off a lot of pressure tho ( or I was horribly wrong with the estimate) cause I compression tested it the other day and the average of all the cylinders is 217psi (compared to 205psi in my stock 2.2 Eco).
Spalattero - Set-up is a Hahn Turbo Kit with the Hahn prototype portfueler intake manifold and extra injectors. Turbo has been upgraded to a Garrett 63mm T3/T4 (all I know for now, the original owner has it still and will be dropping it off for me to get rebuilt as its currently blown). Trans is stock minus the Quaife LSD that was installed by Tod Miller before I owned it, nothing is really necessary for 400whp in terms of transmission mods. Clutch is a Bully Stage 3 disk with an OEM pressure plate, this should hold fine.
Where did you find the Hahn kit?
Ive been looking for one for ages!!
I just got a new reason to check jbo on a daily basis again! Good luck with the build and goals.
2004 Cavalier Sedan
well, i wish you woulda stayed n/a but i'm sure your'e going to build a monster here so i'm subd
ohh... OHH!!!
SELL OUT!!!!!
lmao so.. breeding new life eh? atta boy.
I choose the technology built for land speed records... not the technology built to save on emissions and gas mileage.
All the hassle of getting the ammfab header and your not even going to be using it any more.
Good to see your going to the "positive" side.
"Oil Leak ? What oil Leak ? Oh, Thats Just The Sweat From All The HorsePower!!"
This thread makes me happy in the pants! After seeing what you've accomplished with n/a, I'm excited to see what you do with some boost. Keep up the good work!
DSMskyline wrote:All the hassle of getting the ammfab header and your not even going to be using it any more.
thats ok. ill be putting it to good use.
Sweet, glad to see you moving up to some boost action Newt.
But I'll admit I was like but what about the AMMfab header???
Then Priggen soothed my worries! LOL And if you ever decide to get rid of it Mr. Priggen hit me up.
Yes, header will be going to go a good home with Alex
Hopefully get some progress done tonight if I'm not stuck at work all night.
Good luck with the project.

Car will have a lot of nuts with that high compression. Just be sure to keep an eye on it. Going to put quite a bit of stress on that beast.
Get to running so I know what to expect. I'm assuming its the same size turbo as me.... I think.
Ya I have a meth kit as well that will be going on, hoping I can put a pretty lazy tune on it to keep the internals from becoming external.
Good news is, from what I read on the Cobalt forums, it seems to be the sleeves that go before anything else does, and it seems to be north of 450whp when they start to become unreliable.
So, fingers crossed.
