I would, because.......... turbo!!
Got rid of my VIS Invader hood for this baby.
This pic shows it is functional, my phone light is behind the cutout, perfect spot for cooling turbo

RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
was the outer part of the hood always open, and you cut it out for the turbo cooling? I've never gotten to see one in person.
Brad, patience young one
Cinny, yep the outside of the hood was always open, made like that. You see the mesh on the left side of the underside of the hood? where the stock intake box would be? Thats an indication of the hood was functional from the beginning.
Yea thats why i cut it open, just another option to get some fresh air back there to the turbo area. My invader was open up by where my intake manifold is, that did absoultey nothing for cooling for my engine.

we're not in high school....i dont want to be teased. show me full frontal pics or i dont care!
I dig it as well. Cant wait to see it on the car.
Question, were you really that worried about the heat from the turbo setup? Just curious....

im with this guy, yo quiero full frontal, say no to teasing
Modding my j since I found the org
But but.. Ok I was waiting to install it before showing a full frontal lol.
Vince, nah man wasnt worried at all. I never had a problem with heat, but extra cooling doesnt hurt, plus it will act as a vent for heat to escape. Win win.

then install son! what else do you have to do on this saturday morning? cant wait to see it on
I was going to do the same thing just never got around to doing it. I would also make the shape match the other side(half moon) and put a air deflector at the back of the opening so you don't get turbulence in the hood from the air not knowing where to go. That could also add unwanted stress on the hood. But otherwise awesome.
Jason I thought about that deflector, but am unsure how to make it and what to make it out of. Flimsy thin peice of aluminum?

Fiberglass. Three layers should work. Use cheese cloth for the first layer. That way it adheres to the back side of the carbon fiber and fiberglass frame.
Check my FB pic Jason, my camera batteries died so I uploaded a phone pic there.

Yeah it looks really fitting on there. especially with the import fighter. Love it. Very clean as usual. Idk how worried id be about it catching air in the scoop as I would the front corners.
FYI, it better leave the garage, it better hit the track... you got some catching to do!!!!!!! and you better do it!
