The first N/A run was 14.1 and the nitrous run was 13.5. Sorry, I spaced off posting those.
we never get vids with times
oh well, its still fun to see the thing run on video LOL
he ran 14.1, 14.1 on motor (it was really freaking humid out) and then 13.7 on spray, i believe 13.6 on spray then finally a 13.5 @ 104 on spray. all times on all season street tires.
*on a side note holy @!#$ you can really hear the motor scream when he hits the button in third gear in the second vid

for real man, that thing sounds NASTY! i LOVE it
what really sucks is if you listen to it right after he sprays the engine sounds like it just stays at a certain rpm and doesnt accelerate, then towards the end it does.
hmmmm slipping clutch FOR THE LOSE. 13.5 @ 104 on street tires with a slipping clutch.
wait til next year girls... pauls already got the front end tore off

What other major mods as well? I love the scream when on n20 its a beautiful thing. I don't think I have ever heard a car sound the same on a video as they do in person.
Why isn't he racing anybody? lol

y did he spray so late??
when i was on spary i started right after i caught traction
13.1 @ 115
He didn't have time to mount the nitrous switch properly, so he was kind of fumbling for it. Also this was his first track experience with nitrous, it wasn't a tuned setup as he had no wideband. I am pretty sure it was a 125 wet shot, but I could be wrong.

They had one side of the track down for a few because some civic decided to blow his clutch into pieces all over the track.

Wow 125. Enjoy it while you still have it (unless its built).
Yeah Brad told me it was a 125 wet shot.
About damn time you got some vids. Awesome
Third is waiting a bit long to spray though, I can see not worrying about first gear but I'd spray the hell out of second.
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
I've always wanted to see more posts of people spraying during runs. That was great, it screamed in 3rd when he sprayed, did anyone else notice that it sounded like he spun in 4th (obvously someone else at the box)! Cool vids, more of spraying! What do you think times would be with better clutch and spray starting in 2nd?
i'm kind of amazed his time's only increased by half a second with that large of a shot. although not spraying till 3rd would explain alot. @!#$ starting in second, spray that bitch as soon as ya get traction.
LOL ok... since paul has no internet, again.. i will explain for him.
125 wet shot was used. ZEX kit.
why did it only gain 6 tenths? well a lot was cuz it was only about 90 degrees AT NIGHT and there was no air in the water for the car to breathe but the clutch was also obviously slipping. (see my above post for further explanation).
yes, the motor is pretty built, it can handle it. its got domed high compression pistons, eagle rods, ho cams, and a nicely ported head with all the bolt-ons to compliment, including a 75mm tb and a custom built long tube header with 3" side exit exhaust. (thats too big you say? really? hmmm does you're car run 13's all motor with that puny 58mm tb and pace setter off the shelf header?
)
reason he didnt spray in lower gears was because he was pressed for time on the install and mounted the activation button on the dash in the hvac area. with worrying about shifting, traction, and keeping the car straight its pretty hard to hit a button on the dash when you're planted in the seat. and yes, the button will be moved for next year.
he also was running street tires. its hard enough to try and keep them planted all motor let alone with spray too.
the nitrous was basically a screw it thing, we knew the rings were starting to go because it leaks down pathetic numbers for the high compression it has. similar builds produce upwards of around 275psi, his does 210. hell i have a stock LD9 that does 205psi for crist sakes! it also has pretty bad blow-by. and honestly, it has never really had awesome leak down numbers, i think the highest was 225psi during the beginning) the motor will be getting re-built this winter.
Oldsmobile all motor > Saab/Opel boosted
Love the car and the mods...props for the numbers and his innovation ive seen along the way. But damn he goes through engines quick!
This motor has actually lasted him a while, and you do have to give him some credit for being so innovative. This has kind of been a budget build, and he has pulled some amazing all motor times with this car. Also...@!#$ breaks, it happens. Build it better, stronger, faster. It's all about learning from your mistakes, and making things better. God I love this hobby.
