Is that crack in the bellhousing something to worry about? should i swap the bellhousing from mine to get rid of that crack? kind of a newb when it comes to FWD trannys so does anything else look off or wrong other than its dirty as hell?

I wouldnt worry too much about it, unless there is a hole going into where the fluid would be then you can either have it welded or just jbweld over it. I have delt with a ton of trannies that a chunk of the bellhousing cracked off, as long as its nothing around the fuild, dont worry, thats just a bolt up point to the engine, and missing one really isnt going to kill you or the car. Wont even notice it, other then when u look at it. Other then that, enjoy!

Man that's an all to familiar sight. The one we took out of my car cracked right there, just make sure there's no mounting point right there mine had a mounting tab there. As for swapping the case. It's ALOT harder than it sounds, I got mine split open and just got overwhelmed by the amount of work.

i know it will be a PITA but its better than spending 500 dollars at aamco for them to put it in. plus it'll be a learning experence if someone else needs it done i could make some good cash off them

Drop the subframe or do the PJ mod and cut off that tab on the subframe.

Install is not that bad, took me and my buddy a couple hours to swap mine, but that included plenty of rye and smoke breaks.

Looks good tho!

The driver side subframe extends farther than it needs to, and then is back cut on an angle.

If you cut it so the cut is now vertical it will drop out much easier.

You will figure out what piece it is as soon as you try to pull the tranny out the bottom...lol

Its kinda hard to explain, but if you search you might be able to find the post on here.

It is honestly easier to take the subframe out. Alot more room to do it.

Really?! I found it ALOT easier to cut the tab off. Don't have to mess with the bolts, brake lines, power steering crap, etc. I don't see what is so hard about getting it out once the tab is cut off.

got the mounts off, got all the electrical stuff off, got the bracing bars off, got the bell housing bolts out, got that piece of the subframe out of the way, got the axels out, now is it just a matter of wedging it out?
