Taking a little break from work and trying to get the trunk finished. I would like , dare I say it , "Personal Opinions". Don't worry I'm a big boy and I can take it. But if YOU don't like someone elses opinion please don't start a bunch of crap here. Thanks
I made a new sub box to hold 2 JL10w6v2's. Then made new side "closeout panels". I'll also be mounting a Viper 1100d5 to power the subs and 2 sets (1 in the doors and 1 in the trunk) of CDT ES 3 way components (mids only) and a Viper 150.2 to run 4 tweeters (2) in the doors and (2) in the trunk.
Now here's where I need some opinions.
My thinking is cover the side panels in the same Dk. Graphite vinyl as the interior. Wrap the sub box in Tan vinyl the same as the interior. Then lay Tan carpet on the remaining trunk floor area.
Also , opinions on the LCD screens 1 or 2 ?
I will also be making a amp rack to go across the area of the backseat opening for the smaller amp. so you can't see all the way through the car. And it'll help to isolate some of the trunk/road noise from the cabin of the car.

would have to agree about the single screen. 2 would cover the subs to much.
That's pretty much what I was thinking after I got 2 of them set in there. I can always mount 1 up under the tonneau cover.

I like the single screen as well, seems to flow better. Question on your side fillers...are you using cardboard or posterboard and glassen over it? Please post pic when you get it done.
i love the car, but i'm not sure if i'm lovin the trunk set up...i'm sure if i saw it in person i would like it more, i do appreciate the custom work because i for one wish i could do that.
one screen looks better than two.
are you going to fill anything in on the side of the subs?

It's called Panel Board , you can get it at just about any trim supply shop. It's a little over 1/16" thick ,so it's heavier then regular cardboard. Then fiberglassing one layer on the front and two on the back.

That's another reason I was thinking 1 screen. I can make a speaker pod to mount the components in and have it kind of fill in the sides between the sub box and the sides.

yea it just looks like there is something missing...
its just bare thats all
The only problem is , if you look at a sunfire trunk (maybe a Cav. too) the spare tire well is about 2 1/2" closer to the pass. side so the driver side has a 6" gap between the sub box and the side wall. The passenger side only has a 3 1/2" gap.

what kind of stuff is that on the trunk floor the black film. is that rock guard u used?
well... im not a big fan of tvs in cars but my opinion would be to put two smaller tvs angled out of the side of the side panels..... if you dont know what i mean ill draw it up ....... i think that wouuld look killer plus you would be able to see the whole subwoofer that way. :-) but im sure whatever you do it will look hott ur car is amazing youve done a good job thus far

How about this set up instead? I think it cuts down the off centering? better with the amp mounted on the side with the bigger gap. Then I can just make a small fiberglass box for the components to set in.

i like the idea of the two tvs on the sides angled
Here's without any screens. I think I like this better then any. I can always mount the screens on the bottom side of the tonneau cover when I finish it out.

it looks good! i like the 1 screen idea. what about mounting the other screen facing the windsheild mounted in your tonneau cover right between the seats, that would look sweet IMO
I like it with no screens honestly....
Keeps with the clean/factory appearing look that you have been known for pulling off...
Love the carrrrrr!!

Deff. no screens looks the best that way.... screens in the trunk are overated. now molded screen in the dash= teh hotness
no screens in front of the subs... what about putting them on the underside of the trunklid? so when it's open, you have the audio down in and the screens up top.
YOU SUCK......it's perfect, but I guess what else should we expect from you Gary.
