Just bolts right on? No welding was required?

Ive had one for a while now but havent installed it since i dont know how much of a pain it would be to do.

well you can weld it but me and my dad just clamped it on that way if anything goes wrong like a gasket burn up or something you dont have to cut the piping to get it back off. Its sorta a pain at first cause what we did was took out the dip stick (yellow stick where you check the oil) to get the new header in cause its longer and bigger than the stock one. you might wanna get some differant socket extentions and the little extentions with the swivals at the ends for this cause one bolt on the drivers side is a pain to get to w/o these. good luck

did you raise up the car and cut the factory downpipe? then unbolt the stock header? and it slipped out?

or how did you do it?

i installed mine this spring, it was a massive bitch. I do tons of headers on cars and this was seriously one of the worst as far as a 4cyl goes. Clamping it might have been a decent ide as long as you dont get leaks because welding it makes it a bit of a bitch to get it lined up. Although i noticed a huge difference in mid and top end, and the overall tone of my exhaust became much deeper, i love it, i just dint love installing it lol.

Hi friend. Looks very good but I have some questions:
1.- where is located the O2 sensor bung?
2.- for what 2.4L engines is this header? what years? can you post the part number or code?
3.- does it have the small tube for the EGR?
4.- what size (inner diameter) are the ball joint and the downpipe?

Also impressions about how runs the car are welcome.

Regards,

LD9 2.4 twin cam

96-02 , the 96-98 and some early 99's had the egr , the early header wil have the tube for the egr

the o2 in in the collector

the opening in hte collector is around 2 1/4" and the down pipe is 2 1/4"

mine goes on tommorow along with my 2 1/4" cat and 2 1/4" piping from the cat to the cat back

I just bought a RKSport 4-1 ceramic coated header almost identical to this one. I am also curious what you did as far as install goes. Is there any cutting involved, or can I just unbolt the manifold, bolt on the header and be done? I'm hoping to be able to just clamp it for the time being. The exhaust shop doesn't have an opening for a few weeks. BTW, I have a '99 Z24 with the 2.4L.

Hey Brian, you beat me to it. I was just going to post the same thing. I don't know how many times I see people bitch and bitch about people not searching. I searched, found a relevant topic, and posted. I got my answer without starting a new thread. I guess you can't do anything right around here!

Looks like the same one I got installed about a year ago. The shop did my full exhaust set up that day, and said that the header was the biggest pita that they've ever had to install.
