Im wondering if anyone has tried to mount Corvette seats into a J car. And if I can be real fussy, power seats at that. Im looking for any info I can as Im gonna buy the seats and try no matter what but some guidance would be awesome.

Anything will fit with enough time, patience and know how. Sometimes however money needs to be added to the equation.

The first thing would be to find Corvette seats that you like and then get dimensions of the seat cusion and the tracks and judge those against the factory Cavalier cushion and track. This will give you an idea as to how much room you currently have vs how much room you need. You can usually find listings for seats on Ebay that also provide the seat dimenions.

wouldnt it just be easier to remove the whole track from the cavalier seat and put them onto the base of whatever seat it was you wanted to install?..

just currios about this myself, recently replaced my 98 cav seats due to them being pretty bad with another set of stock seats, and kept the whole track set up.. this summer I was thinking of looking for some a bit more comfy since im in the car alot.

IT'S TOO WIDE, YOU WILL NEED TO FABRICATE NEW FRAME RAILS (QUITE PRICEY) AND U WILL NEED TO HOOK UP AND PULL WIRES TO DO THE POWER SEATS.
I'd try Neon SRT-4 or 2000 Civi SI-R hatchback seats

they're both really nice, comfortable and great for handling.

they require new rails too but less difficult.

Measure the width first.

I dont know if they are to wide or not....hooking up the power part would not be difficult at all, and so long as the seats physically fit between the door and console, you can make brackets to hold them in place.

I agree. But I think it's actually too wide.

check if it's too tall too, if u have 2 door 'cuz u might end up not being able to move it forward =p

I don't even know if you CAN make it tilt forward.....

but hey,

As long as you're wililng to spend the money......

As far as being too wide, I just put Cobalt seats in my J body. There is a thread in the Pics and Media forum of what I did to get them to fit. Had to move the inner seat tracks about 2" in on each seat then fab a bracket. Not my idea of a good time but def. a learning experience.
