I have a sunfire and it has red guages, i want them blue, cheap, easy way to do this? Are there just red led's behind the cluster that i could replace with blue?

The gauge faces are tinted red. So you would need to change the faces in order to change to another color. Use the search button, and do some digging around here. You'll see what kind of options you have.

Oh and fill out your profile so we can see the details of your car. That will help others to help you.

Yeah I looked around and found guages, but I can't find anything on the color of the shifter lights. I guess I'll just rip my middle console out and see whats up. I filled out my profile, thanks for the reminder.

ive done the change. its easy just get 5 blue leds from superbrightleds.com. get the 5 angle wedge base type. i think size 194 but could be mistaken. dont worry about the red tint it wont interfere with the blue light that much. if i could get my camera to work id show you. anyways the HVAC bulbs are size 74 just get 2 wide angle blue leds for that. and i have a manual so i dont know about the shift lights but im guessin its about the same. jus read the forum titles how to change the color of you gauge cluster with leds. or sumthing like that.ok hope i could help.

ill upload pictures. ive done it. i really dont see any red at all or purple. really the only bad spot is about the 5-6 rpm mark, its a not as blue as the rest (so that makes it slightly violet). the fuel gauge needle has a yellowy tint to it, but in the general overveiw of the project, not bad. ill give you "proof" as soon as i can borrow someones camera.

Thanks, I've always wondered if our gauge clusters would shine purple with blue LEDs. On a side note you don't live but an hour or two away from me.

another option is to get a cav cluster and switch the leds b/c it doesn't have any film in it that would alter the output of the color.

the fact is he still has an 00+ car. its not very easy to change the lights in those.

right, a cav cluster would give you a white light, but you still face the soldering nightmare to change the led's

wait...he said shift light...are our cars supposed to have a light at the shifter? whenever my gf drives my car, she doesn't know what gear she's in, cuz her car(04 corolla) has lights to tell her(i told her to just move it one down for reverse, and two more for drive, but idk...doesn't sink in too much)...or was it only a sunfire thing?

It doesnt have an indicator in the gauge cluster.....if thats what you mean.

it should have an indicator by the shifter.

...there's a light for that???????? mine doesn't light up, and i always just assumed that it was just painted(prnd321) cuz its a cheap car, lmao, i feel like an idiot now!

so, should i just go to a dealership and order a new bulb?
