1) what clusters are compatible and are able to work with my 1999 Chevy Cavalier ?
2) is there some sort of aftermarket dash i can install instead of the one in my car ? like for CD player mounting instead of having it in the factory outlet spot ?
3) What would be the best way to cut into the top dash to install a 10 inch monitor for my DVD deck ?

2 no unless u plan on custom making it.
3. if your not even sure what to use to cut into your dash then your not ready for this type of project, just start searching thru old posts and start learning, its been done several times and you can find some old build pics of how people did it to start the learning process.

1) for the 95-99 cav/fires only a cluster from your car will work, you can not interchange them like you can in the 00+. for the 99 i believe you can get either a 98 or 99 cluster. for the 95-99 js though, its just a good idea to get the same year cluster to insure it works properly.

3) how do you plan on mounting this 10" screen? are you going to glass a big hump in the dash?

agreed.....how are you planning on mounting?? and the cluster advice I agree with. try to stick to the same year, there are lots in the 95-99 range that are NOT interchangable.
Don't know about the standard cluster, but the Z24 cluster (w/tach) is unique to the '99 which has an LED odometer. The '98 and prior uses the familiar rotating drum odometer.

base cavaliers had digital odometers too in 99
