it'll come with a sending unit. one day crawl under our car and look up at the oil filter. there's a plug that can be removed with a 3/8 ratchet (its a square drive, no socket). the sender goes there, then run your wires.

1/4" socket
Threads should be 3/8" NPT
well it got warm enough and i got to installing and to my surprise the adapter piece was the right size to fit the block. its all finished and no leaks, yea I didn't go with the electric style gauge...why you ask? i dont know either, but it looks good and performs well. Thanks for the help guys.

Sorry to thread jack, but..
What the deal with installing the sending unit on a 2005 Sunfire. I know the engine setup is a little different and it doesn't have a conventional oil filter. Where does the sending unit go? I was trying to figure it out the other day...
Thanks for any help.
